The Calculation of Magnetic Coupling from Overhead Transmission Lines

IEEE Power Engineering Review, 1981
Magnetic coupling to buried conductors, such as pipelines, on the right-of-way is a function of the transmission line's longitudinal electrical field (LEF) which is proportional to the phase current. A rigorous solution for the LEF uses Carson's series and requires the use of a computer or programmable calculator.

Computerized design of overhead transmission power lines

Proceedings of ESMO '93. IEEE 6th International Conference on Transmission and Distribution Construction and Live-Line Maintenance, 2002
The conventional design of overhead transmission power lines by manual survey, mapping and design techniques, involve costly and time consuming activities. Massive documentation is accumulated during the preliminary studies of terrain, alternative routes selection, power-line hardware configuration, cost-effectiveness-performance optimization, and more.
