Intertemporal separability in overlapping-generations models [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Economic Theory, 1984
It is known from earlier work that in a pure exchange overlapping generations model with two period lived consumers and a single consumption good, there are a finite number of perfect foresight equilibria along which money has no value. If money has value, then there is at most one dimension of indeterminacy.

General dynamics in overlapping generations models [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Economic Dynamics and Control, 1995

Parametric Reform of Iranian Pension System with Imperfect Labor Market: Utilizing Replacement Rate Reduction and OLG Model Approach [PDF]

open access: yesFaslnāmah-i Pizhūhish/Nāmah-i Iqtisādī, 2019
Macroeconomic fluctuations and demographic changes have led to problems in Iranian retirement funds and lack of sustainability in their resources and expenditures. Because of ageing population and the effect of inflation on depreciation of pension funds’

Business Cycles in a Two-Sided Altruism Model

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
This study demonstrates that business cycles with complex periodic fluctuations may arise in an overlapping generations model with two-sided altruism.

The two sides of public debt: Intergenerational altruism and burden shifting. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
In controlled laboratory experiments with and without overlapping generations, we study the role of intergenerational altruism in public debt accumulation. Public debt is chosen by popular vote, pays for public goods, and is repaid with general taxes. We

Multiple Attractors and Nonlinear Dynamics in an Overlapping Generations Model with Environment

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2010
This paper develops a one-sector productive overlapping generations model with environment where a CES technology is assumed. Relying on numerical and geometrical approaches, various dynamic properties of the proposed model are explored: the existence of

External Habits Formation and the Environment

open access: yesNaše Gospodarstvo, 2021
The present paper presents a standard overlapping generations model with external habits formation and environmental quality in the utility function. Our main objective is to study the impact of external habits on capital accumulation and environmental ...

Population Consequences of Parent-Offspring Competition: An Individual-Based Model

open access: yesStudia Ecologiae et Bioethicae
The article compares different versions of individual-based models of single population dynamics with overlapping generations with results of the model of population with non-overlapping generations. In all models, various versions of global competition

The power to detect recent fragmentation events using genetic differentiation methods. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Habitat loss and fragmentation are imminent threats to biological diversity worldwide and thus are fundamental issues in conservation biology. Increased isolation alone has been implicated as a driver of negative impacts in populations associated with ...
