Economic Growth Model with Fertility Incentives: A Theoretical Analysis Framework and Policy Simulation for China

open access: yesMathematics
This study presents an overlapping generation model to examine the impact of fertility incentive policies on economic growth in China, incorporating endogenous fertility, education, and technological advancement by integrating unified growth theory with ...

The Impact of Labor Income Tax Progressivity on the Fiscal Multipliers in the Context of the Fiscal Consolidation

open access: yesNotas Económicas, 2020
Fiscal multipliers depend on several structural characteristics of each economy. In this study it is argued that labor income tax progressivity lowers the fiscal multipliers of fiscal consolidation programs.

Aging effects on consumption risk-sharing channels in European countries [PDF]

open access: yesZbornik radova Ekonomskog fakulteta u Rijeci : časopis za ekonomsku teoriju i praksu, 2018
This study tests the hypothesis that aging affects risk sharing via capital markets, federal governments, and credit markets. We apply the decomposition method to both simulated and European country data.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Analysis of Local Stability for Discrete Lotka-Volterra Models

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Exatas e Tecnológicas
This paper applies the stability theory of discrete systems to a predator–prey model with a specific structure, formulated directly in discrete time.

The effects of transport infrastructure on regional economic development: A simulated spatial overlapping generations model with heterogenous skill

open access: yesJournal of Transport and Land Use, 2012
As a result of public investment, lower freight transport costs tend to translate into lower local price indices and are associated with equilibria characterized by higher capital intensity, output and consumption.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Mr. Hayek and the Classics: A Suggested Interpretation of the Business Cycle Theory in _Prices and Production_

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of Austrian Economics, 2021
This paper endeavors to develop a modern theoretical underpinning of Friedrich August von Hayek’s business-cycle theory as published during the Great Depression in his book Prices and Production. According to Hayek, economic cycles are caused by monetary

Plasma extrachromosomal circular DNA as a biomarker in EGFR‐targeted therapy of non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...
