Cyber Risk Assessment of Transmission Lines in Smart Grids

open access: yesEnergies, 2015
The increasing use of information technologies in power systems has increased the risk of power systems to cyber-attacks. In this paper, we assess the risk of transmission lines being overloaded due to cyber-based false data injection attacks.

Investigating design features of a computer-mediated communication system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Computer-mediated communication (CMC) is increasingly used in higher education, but it is not without problems. The effectiveness of CMC depends on many factors, including the characteristics of CMC systems themselves.

Multi‐Responsive Dendrimer‐Hyaluronic Acid Hydrogel With Lubricating and Immunoregulatory Functions for Synergistic Osteoarthritis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A hydrogel with dynamic cross‐links was formed by cross‐linking hyaluronic acid with curcumin‐preloaded, phenylboronic acid‐modified poly(amidoamine) dendrimers. This hydrogel exhibited excellent injectability and self‐healing ability, enabling controlled Cur release in response to low pH, high reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, or mechanical ...

An Overview of Information Overload, System Feature Overload, Social Overload and Communication Overload

open access: yesEnvironment-Behaviour Proceedings Journal
Social media has faced difficulties in recent years due to users ceasing to use them, but little is known about the relationships between the various aspects of overload and how this negatively impacts users' social media exhaustion. Additionally, it described social media overload as a multidimensional construct made up of four types of overloads ...

Microfluidic Modeling of Macrophage‐Induced Cardiac Inflammation Using NF‐κB Reporter Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A cardiac inflammation model was developed to enable real‐time analysis of macrophage‐cardiomyocyte interactions using NF‐κB‐reporter cardiomyocytes and a microfluidic co‐culture system. A MATLAB‐based model was implemented to optimize cell density and medium resupply based on TNFα diffusion kinetics. Activation thresholds and stress responses in NF‐κB‐
