EFFECTS OF OVERPRESSURE ON THE EAR‐A REVIEW*
Abstract : Information regarding blast effects on the ear is reviewed in an attempt to gather quantitative information available for animals and man for help in the establishment of relationships between various levels of overpressure and the incidence of eardrum failure, the degree of damage to the middle and inner ear and other identifiable sequelae ...

A mobile electromagnetic levitator combined with time‐resolved synchrotron X‐ray diffraction enables in situ studies of high‐temperature phase transformations without container‐induced contamination and reveals the first direct observation of metastable phase formation in undercooled Fe–Co alloys. In situ observations of high‐temperature transformations,

ABSTRACT The Pletmos sub‐basin in the Outeniqua Basin, offshore South Africa, is divided by the Superior, Pletmos and Plettenberg faults into northern and southern depocentres. In this study, geological and organic geochemical data together with 1D basin modelling were used to investigate the burial, thermal and maturation histories, and the timing of ...

Peak overpressure and rate change.
Each reference column is the explosion overpressure peak (Y axis) under different spray pressures (X axis), and the curve is the explosion overpressure propagation rate (Y axis) under different spray pressures (X axis).

ABSTRACT Significant porosity of more than 5% was found at depths of more than 8500 m in poorly sorted, calcareous mudstones of the Malmian Mikulov Formation. These overpressured rocks are the main hydrocarbon source rock in the Vienna Basin. Core samples from present‐day depths of 8150 m to 8550 m were analysed using X‐ray diffraction and scanning ...

ABSTRACT Rationale Pollution of surface and shallow groundwater by nitrate (NO3−$$ {\mathrm{NO}}_3^{-} $$) is a global concern, resulting in the deterioration of drinking water quality. Stable isotopes of NO3−$$ {\mathrm{NO}}_3^{-} $$ (δ15N and δ18O) can be used to trace its sources and identify prevailing biogeochemical processes.

Influences of the Cloud Shape of Fuel-Air Mixtures on the Overpressure Field
This paper presents an experiment system in the open field, which comprises a charge structure (approximately 166.2 kg), a high-speed camera subsystem, and a pressure measurement subsystem.
