The Influence of Fault and Stress Contributed On Overpressure Mechanism For Neogen Formation (Mundu, Wonocolo, Ngrayong) East Java Basin, Indonesia

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Rembang Madura Kangean Sakala (RMKS) fault zone and W-E structures of Kendeng Zone are the main structural elements in back arc basin, East Java, Indonesia. There are many perspectives about the overpressure zone at the basin.

Effect of Oxygen Content on Surface and Subsurface Integrity During Turning of Ti–6Al–4V

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how oxygen content in the ambient atmosphere affects the surface and subsurface properties of Ti–6Al–4V during turning. Results show that oxygen does not influence surface roughness. However, machining in an extremely high vacuum‐adequate atmosphere increases surface hardness by up to 7.8% and induces compressive residual stresses ...

Encyclopedia of 2D β′‐In2Se3 Growth Using Chemical Vapor Deposition: The Effects of Synthesis Parameters Onto Material Quality

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A distinct semi‐confined inner‐tube chemical vapor deposition geometry enables reproducible, large‐area growth of phase‐pure 2D β′‐In2Se3 from InI + Se precursors. Engineering local vapor transport and optimizing precursor delivery and temperature–time conditions yield uniform continuous films.

Understanding Operando Water Management in Hydroxide‐Exchange‐Membrane Fuel Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Effective water management is vital for high‐performance hydroxide‐exchange‐membrane fuel cells. Using a custom water‐flux station, this study quantifies how membrane thickness, microporous layers, and operating conditions dictate internal water transport.

Dust Ejection from Planetary Bodies by Temperature Gradients: Laboratory Experiments

open access: yes, 2011
Laboratory experiments show that dusty bodies in a gaseous environment eject dust particles if they are illuminated. We find that even more intense dust eruptions occur when the light source is turned off.

Durability of Soft Pneumatic Actuators: A Review and Benchmarking Protocol

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Lack of durability is a key challenge hindering the broad scale adoption of soft pneumatic actuators (SPAs) in automation industries. This review provides a comprehensive overview of existing research on SPA durability, introduces a standardized durability benchmarking protocol to consolidate the testing of SPAs, and outlines promising directions for ...

Genetic mechanisms and distribution characteristics of overpressures in the Paleogene reservoirs of the Bohai Bay Basin, East China

open access: yesEnergy Exploration & Exploitation, 2018
The Bohai Bay region is a primary accumulation area of oil and gas in offshore China, in which overpressure commonly occurs in the Paleogene strata; the analysis on distribution characteristics and genetic mechanisms of the overpressure would provide ...

Physical properties of interstellar filaments

open access: yes, 2012
We analyze the physical parameters of interstellar filaments that we describe by an idealized model of isothermal self-gravitating infinite cylinder in pressure equilibrium with the ambient medium.
