Dependence of sonic velocity on effective stress in fine-grained sediments [PDF]
Overpressure estimation methods that use sonic velocity as a proxy for porosity only account for excess pressure due to disequilibrium compaction; the influence of unloading processes in generating larger excess pressure observed in most basins is ...

In‐Sensor Computing by Soft Threshold Logic Gates Under Different Humidity Conditions
Soft nanocomposite materials, based on gold cluster‐assembled thin films implanted in polydimethylsiloxane substrate, can perform reliable processing in ambient environmental conditions. Humidity influences the resistive switching and computational capabilities of the nanocomposites, that can be used as multifunctional material combining sensing ...

Propagation law of gas-coal dust explosion shock waves under different explosion conditions
To address the limitations of current experimental and numerical studies on the propagation of gas-coal dust explosion shock waves, which are mostly confined to small-scale laboratory pipelines or local roadways, this study adopted a segmented relay ...

Dielectric Elastomer Actuators as Safe and Effective Tools for Mechanostimulation of Human Cells
Replicating physiological forces is crucial for realistic cell models. Dielectric elastomer actuators (DEAs) offer a soft alternative, though their high voltages raised toxicity concerns. We demonstrate that DEA stimulation causes no cell damage, cell death or cell‐cycle disruption, while activating mechanosensitive responses.

Research progress on biomarkers of traumatic brain injury
Traumatic brain injury: From primary insult to secondary neuroinflammation and degeneration. Abstract Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a common disorder of the nervous system and has become a leading cause of death and disability worldwide, imposing a substantial burden on patients and their social circles. Its main symptoms include dyskinesia, language

A critical review of currently available pore pressure methods and their input parameters: glaciations and compaction of north sea sediments. [PDF]
Historically pore pressure evaluation in exploration areas was based on empirical relationships between drilling parameters, wireline logs and the mud weight. Examples include Eaton's Ratio and the Hottman & Johnson Methods, which were based on data from
