Bollworm Ovicide Trials, 1988

Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1989
Abstract Cotton was planted 25 May at the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station, Munday. Azinphosmethyl at 0.28 kg (AI)/ha was applied 26 Jul to eliminate predators and parasites from the plots. Plots were fertilized before planting with 112 kg nitrogen/ha and irrigated 27-29 Jul.

Ovicidal lectins from Moringa oleifera and Myracrodruon urundeuva cause alterations in chorionic surface and penetrate the embryos of Aedes aegypti eggs.

Pest Management Science, 2020
BACKGROUND Lectins from Moringa oleifera seeds (WSMoL), Myracrodruon urundeuva bark (MuBL), and heartwood (MuHL) are larvicidal agents against Aedes aegypti; in addition, WSMoL is an ovicidal agent against this mosquito.

Ovicidal Action of Organo-phosphorus Insecticides

Nature, 1957
THE response of insect eggs to organo-phosphorus insecticides presents anomalies for the hypothesis that these compounds exert their toxic effect by inhibition of the acetylcholinesterase of the nervous system. In the first place, the compounds are toxic to eggs treated before differentiation of the nervous system1.

Ovicidal effects of entomopathogenic fungal isolates on the invasive Fall armyworm Spodoptera frugiperda (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)

Journal of applied entomology, 2019
Maize is a major staple food for over 300 million people in sub‐Saharan Africa. Sustainable productivity of this primary crop has been recently threatened by Fall armyworm (FAW), Spodoptera frugiperda invasion.

Ovicide in the whitefly parasitoid, Encarsia formosa

Animal Behaviour, 2000
The oviposition decisions made by insect parasitoids when encountering hosts of variable quality have been the subject of extensive theoretical and experimental investigation. For parasitoids that lay their eggs inside the host, the possible outcomes of encounters with parasitized hosts have been assumed to include only oviposition (superparasitism ...

Fungal ovicidal activity on Toxocara canis eggs

Revista Iberoamericana de Micología, 2013
Visceral toxocariasis is a parasitic zoonosis caused by Toxocara canis. The prevalence of this parasite in dogs, soil contamination and the resistance of eggs increase human exposure to the disease. Moreover, the difficulties of the control measures justify the need for alternative ones. The objective of this study was to evaluate the in vitro ovicidal ...

Ovicidal action of oxfendazole on sheep nematodes

Veterinary Record, 1980
Groups of five sheep naturally infested with gastrointestinal nematodes were dosed with oxfendazole at the rates of 2.5, 3.5, or 4.5 mg per kg and a similar group of five kept as controls. Frequent observations were made on worm egg output and the hatchability of the eggs passed.

Ovicidal Activity of Fenoxycarb, 1987

Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1989
Abstract This test was designed to compare the ovicidal activity of Fenoxycarb with Galecron for control of Heliothis spp. eggs. Cotton was planted 28 Apr in plots 4 row wide, 40 ft long, and replicated 4 times. Plots were arranged in a biased randomized complete block with all Galecron plots on the downwind side of the field and ...

Experimental studies on ovicidal substances occurring in human nightsoil

Experimental Parasitology, 1955
1. 1. Human nightsoil treated with viscera of raw fish, superphosphate of lime, and E. coli cultured in Gale's casein-glucose-broth showed marked ovicidal properties against Ascaris lumbricoides eggs. 2. 2. An acetone insoluble fraction from the acidulous fecal mixture, consisting chiefly of fecal bacteria, was the only ovistatic agent isolated,

In vitro ovicidal activity of current and under‐development scabicides: which treatments kill scabies eggs?

British Journal of Dermatology, 2019
Scabies is highly prevalent worldwide with a significant DALYs global burden, affecting 100-200 million people annually.1 In hyper-endemic tropical regions, the link with secondary bacterial infections is increasingly recognised.
