Accuracy of the Ovulon Fertility Monitor to Predict and Detect Ovulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
The purpose of this pilot study was to correlate the three biologic markers of the Ovulon fertility monitor (a long-term predictive peak about 6 days before ovulation, a short-term predictive peak about 1 day before ovulation, and a nadir at the time of ...

Identification of A p300–SP1–BRD4 Transcriptional Axis as a Key Driver of AR Hyperactivation in Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals a pivotal epigenetic regulatory role for the histone acetyltransferase p300, demonstrating that its acetylation of histone 3 at lysine 18 and 27 (H3K18ac and H3K27ac), alongside the formation of the p300/BRD4/SP1 complex, drives AR activation and ovarian fibrosis in PCOS.

Porcine luteinising hormone given at oestrus onset by intramuscularroute does not advance ovulation in gilts

open access: yesCiência Rural, 2015
This study aimed to evaluate the use of porcine luteinising hormone (pLH) given at oestrus onset in gilts to synchronise ovulation. A total of 120 gilts (40/treatment) were assigned in three treatments: control - application of placebo by intramuscular ...

Evaluation of infrared thermography combined with behavioral biometrics for estrus detection in naturally cycling dairy cows

open access: yesAnimal, 2021
Low estrus detection rates (>50%) are associated to extended calving intervals, low economic profit and reduced longevity in Holstein dairy cows. The objective of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of infrared thermography and behavioral biometrics ...

Genetic Diagnosis and Discovery Enabled by Large Language Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that large language models (LLMs) can facilitate genetic diagnosis and discovery. LLMs were used to solve four types of genetic problems of sequentially increased complexity. An LLM‐based pipeline could analyze genetic variants in the genomic sequences of human hearing loss or rare genetic disease patients and assist in identifying ...

Interval from Oestrus to Ovulation in Dairy Cows—A Key Factor for Insemination Time: A Review

open access: yesVeterinary Sciences
This review describes the oestrus-to-ovulation interval, the possibility of predicting the time of ovulation, and the optimum time for insemination relative to oestrus in dairy cows.

Estrous behavior, ovulatory follicle dynamics, and corpus luteum size in Creole cows after spontaneous or prostaglandin F2α-induced estrous

open access: yesRevista Colombiana de Ciencias Pecuarias, 2015
Background: evaluation of reproductive behavior in Creole cows is important to determine several parameters, such as fertility, that show the physiologic reproductive mechanisms under different conditions.

A Microfiber‐Reinforced Janus Hydrogel E‐Skin With Recyclable Feature for Multimodal Sensing and Gender‐Specific Physiological Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hydrogel‐based wearable electronics hold great promise for physiological monitoring in privacy‐sensitive regions. In this study, a polyurethane (PU) microfiber‐reinforced gelatin hydrogel e‐skin is developed, boasting multiple advantages such as ultra‐thinness, high toughness, and long‐term skin conformability.

IGFBP5 Restores Endometrial Receptivity and Rescues Implantation Failure in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Impaired endometrial receptivity contributes to the poor pregnancy outcomes in women with PCOS. The authors found that decreased endometrial IL‐22 levels and disrupted STAT3‐IGFBP5 signaling pathway contributed to impaired endometrial receptivity. Supplementation with IL‐22 or IGFBP5 exerts a protective effect on implantation failure in PCOS‐like mice,

Inflammation is a key contributor to ovarian cancer cell seeding. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The incidence of ovarian cancer dramatically increases in early menopause but the factors contributing to cancer onset are unclear. Most ovarian cancers originate in the fallopian tube with subsequent implantation of malignant cells into the ovary ...
