A simple method to evaluate the reliability of OWAS observations
Applied Ergonomics, 1998Slides showing nurses in different working postures were used to determine the reliability of OWAS observations. Each slide could be looked at for 3 seconds, while a new slide was shown every 30 seconds to resemble the normal practice of observation. Two observers twice scored a series of slides, some of them being identical at both viewings. To reduce

Analysis of Working Postures at a Construction Site Using the OWAS Method
International Journal of Occupational Safety and Ergonomics, 2013This study used OWAS to analyze the working postures of construction workers on building the foundations of a log cabin. Three construction workers, with an average work experience of 40 years, participated in this study. Eight elementary jobs of building the foundations of a log cabin were videotaped at a construction site and analyzed later in the ...

OWA Generation Function and Some Adjustment Methods for OWA Operators With Application
IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, 2016We propose the concept of ordered weighted averaging (OWA) generation function with some properties, illustrative examples, and usages. A number of new properties of OWA operators and relations between some well-known OWA operators are proposed and proved using OWA Generation Functions.

A combined OWA–DEA method for dispatching rule selection
Computers & Industrial Engineering, 2015Display Omitted Shows that a standard DEA model cannot be used directly for dispatching rules selection.Proposes a combined OWA-DEA method to assess the dispatching rules.Performs a computational analysis based on randomly generated test problems.Illustrates that the proposed OWA-DEA approach can successfully identify efficient dispatching rules ...

Flexible fuzzy OWA querying method for hemodialysis database
Soft Computing, 2005The hemodialysis quality contains the subjective opinions of the physicians. However, the range of good/bad quality of one physician’s perspective usually differs from the others, so we use the fuzzy theory to solve this vague situation. This paper proposes the fuzzy ordered weighting average (OWA) technique to evaluate fuzzy database queries about ...

OWA-weighted based clustering method for classification problem
Expert Systems with Applications, 2009Information classification is an important role in decision-making problems. As information technology advances, large amounts of information stored in database. Many tasks are worked out in high complexity and dimensionality in classification problem. Therefore, the paper applies ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operator to fusion multi-attribute data

Prioritized induced probabilistic OWA for dispute resolution methods
2016 Annual Conference of the North American Fuzzy Information Processing Society (NAFIPS), 2016The paper presents the prioritized induced probabilistic OWA (PIPOWA) operator. It is a new aggregation operator that unifies the characteristics of the group decision making, the probabilities, the order-induced reordering process and the OWA operator.

An overview of methods for determining OWA weights
International Journal of Intelligent Systems, 2005Ordered weighted aggregation (OWA) operator was introduced in [IEEE Trans. Syst. Man Cybern. 18, No. 1, 183--190 (1988; Zbl 0637.90057)]. In this paper some methods of estimation OWA weights are considered under assumptions on normal distribution. There are investigated some of OWA desirable properties in detail.

ME-OWA based DEMATEL reliability apportionment method
Expert Systems with Applications, 2011The maximal entropy ordered weighted averaging (ME-OWA)-based decision making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) method for reliability allocation has been examined. The assessment results show that most conventional reliability allocation methods have five fundamental problems.

An Efficient Pruning Method for Decision Alternatives of OWA Operators
IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, 2008In this paper, we present an efficient method for pruning decision alternatives in the case of using ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operators for decision making. The proposed method helps to identify inferior alternatives that are less likely to be selected out of competing alternatives as the OWA aggregation proceeds. It thus enables us to diminish
