Intumescent-ablator coatings using endothermic fillers [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
An intumescent-ablator coating composition which contains the ammonium salt of 1,4-nitroaniline-2-sulfonic acid or 4,4 dinitrosul fanilide, a polymeric binder system and about 5 to 30% weight of an endothermic filler is reported.

Electrochemical Degradation of Plastic Waste Coupled with Hydrogen Evolution in Seawater Using Rosette‐Like High‐Entropy Oxides

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rosette‐like high‐entropy NiCoFeMnAlOx enable the electrochemical degradation of PGA plastic waste in seawater, coupling glycolic acid oxidation with hydrogen evolution. Abundant OH* species lower energy barriers for C─C and C─H bond activation, while in situ and theoretical studies reveal the catalytic mechanism.

Crystal structure of bis(allylammonium) oxalate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2014
The title salt, 2C3H8N+·C2O42−, crystallized with six independent allylammonium cations and three independent oxalate dianions in the asymmetric unit. One of the oxalate dianions is nearly planar [dihedral angle between CO2 planes = 1.91 (19)°], while ...

Corrosion behaviour of brazed multilayer material AA4343/AA3003/AA4343: Influence of coolant parameters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This paper is the second part of a work devoted to corrosion in brazed AA4343/AA3003/AA4343 materials on the water side of automotive heater cores. In the first part of the study [S. Tierce, N.Pébère, C. Blanc, C. Casenave, G. Mankowski, H.

POSTN‐Mediated Interplay of M1 Polarized Macrophage with Tendon‐Derived Stem Cells to Drive Traumatic Heterotopic Ossification Formation through PTK7/ATK Signaling?

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The mechanism diagram reveals that the formation of trauma‐induced heterotopic ossification (HO) is accompanied by the polarization of macrophages toward the M1 phenotype. Additionally, the extracellular vesicles secreted by M1 macrophages, which contain periostin (POSTN), directly bind to PTK7 in tendon‐derived stem cells (TDSCs).

Protective effect of epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) via Nrf2 pathway against oxalate-induced epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) of renal tubular cells

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2016
This study evaluated effect of oxalate on epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) and potential anti-fibrotic property of epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG).

Precursor Inhomogeneities Influence the Properties of Multimetal Oxides as Shown for LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 Derived from Hydrothermally Synthesized Precursors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Correlative Raman and scanning electron microscopies are used for identifying compositional differences on the micrometer length scale in LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 cathode materials, and it is shown that these compositional differences can be linked to the electrochemical signature of the material. Abstract Co‐precipitation is an attractive means for synthesizing

Electrochemical Deoxygenative Silylation of Alcohols

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Herein, electroreductive deoxysilylation of benzylic and allylic alcohols is demonstrated. The cathodic transformation proceeds via carbanionic intermediates and can be extended to aldehydes and ketones. Mechanistic studies reveal that the reaction outcome is dependent on the thermodynamics and kinetics for the coupling step in combination with the ...

Inhibition of Glycolate Oxidase With Dicer-substrate siRNA Reduces Calcium Oxalate Deposition in a Mouse Model of Primary Hyperoxaluria Type 1

open access: yesMolecular Therapy, 2016
Primary hyperoxaluria type 1 (PH1) is an autosomal recessive, metabolic disorder caused by mutations of alanine-glyoxylate aminotransferase (AGT), a key hepatic enzyme in the detoxification of glyoxylate arising from multiple normal metabolic pathways to

Engineering Separated Dual O2 Reduction Cores into One Polymer Framework for Boosting Hydrogen Peroxide Production

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here the rational design of two O2 reduction cores into one polymer framework is showcased for synergistically facilitating H2O2 production via the “selfmarketing & cooperation” strategy. Photoactive units of pyrrolo[3,2‐b]pyrrole and porphyrin are successfully settled in covalent organic polymers (COPs) through polycyclizations of the relevant ...
