Crystalline ammonium uranyl peroxy-oxalate

Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry, 1964
Abstract Single crystals of ammonium uranyl peroxy-oxalate [(NH 4 ) 2 UO 4 C 2 O 4 ·3H 2 O] have been prepared. Crystallographic, powder diffraction and optical data are presented for the compound. Thermal decomposition of the compound was studied using differential thermal analysis and thermogravimetric analysis.

Thermal decomposition of hafnyl oxalate and ammonium/magnesium hafnyl oxalate

Thermochimica Acta, 1985
Abstract Conditions for the preparation of stoichiometric hafnyl oxalate, HfOC 2 O 4 ·3.5H 2 O, ammonium hafnyl oxalate, (NH 4 ) 2 HfO(C 2 O 4 ) 2 ·3H 2 O and magnesium hafnyl oxalate, MgHfO(C 2 O 4 ) 2 ·7H 2 O have been standardised. The thermal decomposition of these oxalates has been investigated employing thermogravimetric (TG), differential ...

Elastic properties of ammonium oxalate hydrate, ammonium hydrogen oxalate hemihydrate, and ammonium tetroxalate dihydrate

Acta Crystallographica Section A, 1972
The elastic constants of the two orthorhombic crystals (NH4)2C2O4. H2O and (NH4)HC2O4.½H2O were determined by diffraction of light by ultrasonic waves. These constants and those of the triclinic (NH4)H3(C2O4)2.2H2O previously measured are correlated with the crystal structure. All three crystals show extreme elastic anisotropy which may be explained by

Thermal decomposition kinetics of zirconyl oxalate, zirconyl oxalic acid and ammonium zirconyl oxalate

Thermochimica Acta, 1991
Abstract The thermal decomposition studies of zirconyl oxalate (ZO), Zirconyl oxalic acid (HZO) and ammonium zirconyl oxalate (NZO) have been earned out in air by TG, DTG and DTA techniques. The kinetic parameters (non-isothermal method) for their main oxalate decomposition step have been evaluated using the method suggested by Horowitz and Metzger ...

EPR of Mn2+-doped ammonium oxalate monohydrate

Solid State Communications, 1986
Abstract Detailed X-band EPR studies on an Mn2+-doped single crystal of ammonium oxalate monohydrate have been carried out at room, liquid nitrogen and liquid helium temperatures. The spin-Hamiltonian parameters are rigorously estimated using a recently-developed least-squares-fitting technique, especially adapted to electron-nuclear spin coupled ...

DETERMINING AMMONIUM OXALATE-EXTRACTABLE Si IN SOILS

Canadian Journal of Soil Science, 1986
Determination of oxalate-extractable Si and Al is useful in assessing the degree of accumulation of allophane-like materials in Podzolic soils. Three procedures were tested for determining Si: manual spectrophotometry, automated spectrophotometry and atomic absorption.

Thermal Decomposition of Oxalates of Ammonium and Potassium

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1971
The thermal decomposition of oxalates of ammonium and potassium was studied by simultaneous TGA, DTA, and EGA (effluent gas analysis). Of the simple oxalates, the potassium compound is more stable than the lithium compound, as has been observed for the corresponding carbonates and sulfates. Ammonium oxalate is much less stable than either of the alkali

Solubility of the Sodium and Ammonium Salts of Oxalic Acid in Water with Ammonium Sulfate

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2016
The solubility of the sodium and ammonium salts of oxalic acid in water with ammonium sulfate present has been studied using differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray crystallography, and infrared spectroscopy. The crystals that form from aqueous mixtures of ammonium sulfate/sodium hydrogen oxalate were determined to be sodium hydrogen oxalate ...

Carbon-13 chemical shielding in ammonium hydrogen oxalate hemihydrate

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1975
We have measured the two 13C chemical shift tensors in single crystals of ammonium hydrogen oxalate hemihydrate, NH4HC2O4⋅ (1/2)H2O, using solid state double resonance techniques. One of the two types of tensors in the unit cell, the one belonging to the ionic carboxyl group, is oriented with its least shield component σ11 within 6° of the C–C bond ...
