Effect of saline irrigation on Tetragonia tetragonioides (Pall.) Kuntze grown on different soil types under greenhouse conditions

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND Climate change and population growth are major challenges for sustainable food production, particularly in regions affected by water scarcity and soil salinization. In this context, halophytes represent promising candidates as alternative and sustainable food crops for salt‐affected areas.

THE REACTION BETWEEN AMMONIUM OXALATE AND IODINE

open access: yes, 1949
The reaction between ammonium oxalate and iodine has been studied both in light and in dark: The results obtained are similar to those obtained in the case of potassium oxalate and iodine. Thus, in dark the reaction is unimolecular with respect to iodine and ammonium oxalate. but becomes semi-molecular with respect to iodine in light.

Machine Learning‐Driven Predictive Modeling and Multi‐Objective Exploration of Oxaliplatin‐Loaded Nanocarriers for Enhanced Loading and Encapsulation Efficiency

open access: yesMaterials Genome Engineering Advances, EarlyView.
Integrating ML and multi‐objective optimization enabled efficient, accurate design of nanocarriers with optimized loading and encapsulation efficiencies. ABSTRACT Oxaliplatin (OXA), a critical third‐generation platinum chemotherapeutic, is significantly limited by suboptimal loading capacity and encapsulation efficiency in nanoparticle‐based delivery ...

Influence of presence of ammonium in the hydrothermal illitization of smectite [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
During diagenesis, several reactions induce changes both in phyllosilicates and organic matter, which in basins associated to the production of hydrocarbons leads to ammonium fixation in illite and micas [1] and to dissolution induced by organic acids [

Impacts of reindeer grazing on phosphorus sorption and nutrient availability in a tundra site

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Reindeer Rangifer tarandus, a large circumpolar herbivore, can influence whether nitrogen (N) or phosphorus (P) is the primary limiting nutrient in tundra plant communities. Specifically, findings from a site in northern Scandinavia suggest that under conditions where reindeer grazing stimulates inorganic N availability, grazing may drive ecosystems ...

Effective collection of protein-enriched cells from green tea residue: An innovative process for leaf protein production

open access: yesCurrent Research in Food Science
Green tea residue (GTR) contains a high protein content. However, the protein in GTR can't be effectively extracted using traditional methods. Thus, a novel method using ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA), ammonium oxalate, or Celluclast® 1.5 L were

Design of Composite Photocatalyst of TiO2 and Y-Zeolite for Degradation of 2-Propanol in the Gas Phase under UV and Visible Light Irradiation

open access: yesMolecules, 2014
Hydrophobic Y-zeolite (SiO2/Al2O3 = 810) and TiO2 composite photocatalysts were designed by using two different types of TiO2 precursors, i.e., titanium ammonium oxalate and ammonium hexafluorotitanate. The porous structure, surface property and state of

Effects of Al substitution on goethite formation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
Goethites containing up to 32.7 mole % Al were synthesized and characterized through diffractometry, spectrometry, DSC and chemical techniques. Results indicate that crystal growth was favoured or hindered depending on the percentage of aluminum ...
