Ferrocene Derivatives Enable Ultrasensitive Perovskite Photodetectors with Enhanced Reverse Bias Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Novel ferrocene derivatives (e.g., FcPhc2) are used as an ultrathin layer hole‐blocking layer, reducing hole injection from the Ag contact. This results in an ultralow noise spectral density of 1.2 × 10−14 A Hz−1/2, and a high specific detectivity of 8.1 × 1012 Jones at −0.5 V.

Determining kinetics of H2O2 evolution from photoelectrochemical water oxidation

open access: yesNature Communications
Photoelectrochemical water oxidation to generate H2O2 is a clean and promising method. Its performance is strongly dependent on electrolyte species, in which the Faradaic efficiency is considerably promoted by HCO3 − anion. The kinetic mechanism is under

Understanding and Optimizing Li Substitution in P2‐Type Sodium Layered Oxides for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores Li‐substituted P2 layered oxides for Na‐ion batteries by crystallographic and electrochemical studies. The effect of lithium on superstructure orderings, on phase transitions during synthesis and electrochemical cycling and on the interplay of O‐ versus TM‐redox is revealed via various advanced techniques, including semi‐simultaneous

Kinetics of Oxidation of Tobacco Char

open access: yesContributions to Tobacco and Nicotine Research, 1981
In this paper, thermal analyses (thermogravimetry, TG: derivative thermogravimetry, DTG: differential scanning calorimetry, DSC) of the tobacco char left after pyrolysis of tobacco shreds were carried out in a nitrogen atmosphere containing given amounts

Silicon based oxidation-resistant coatings on Ti6242 alloy by dynamic ion mixing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The influence of SixCy and SixNy amorphous coatings on the oxidation resistance of a Ti6242 (Ti–6Al–2Sn–4Zr–2Mo) alloy was investigated. They were produced at room temperature by the dynamic ion mixing technique combining physical vapour deposition with ...

Unlocking Ultra‐Long Cycle Stability of Li Metal Electrode by Separators Modified by Porous Red Phosphorus Nanosheets

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Coating the standard polypropylene separator with a porous red phosphorous nanosheet greatly improves cycling performance in Li electrode cells. The phosphorus‐based surface chemistry deactivates electrolyte solvent decomposition and enhances the cleavage of F‐containing salt, resulting in an inorganic‐dominated electrolyte interphase (SEI) composition

Low Temperature Photo-oxidation of Chloroperoxidase Compound II [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Oxidation of the heme-thiolate enzyme chloroperoxidase (CPO) from Caldariomyces fumago with peroxynitrite (PN) gave the Compound II intermediate, which was photo-oxidized with 365 nm light to give a reactive oxidizing species.

Atomic Size Misfit for Electrocatalytic Small Molecule Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores the application and mechanisms of atomic size misfit in catalysis for small molecule activation, focusing on how structural defects and electronic properties can effectively lower the energy barriers of chemical bonds in molecules like H2O, CO2, and N2.
