A minimally invasive, transepithelial corneal cross‐linking (TE‐CXL) approach is presented using upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs)‐loaded contact lenses (UCLs), after topical delivery of hyaluronate–riboflavin conjugates. The NIR‐to‐UV/blue light conversion by UCNPs in a UCL can activate riboflavin for TE‐CXL, resulting in the biomechanical strength ...

Oxidative Histochemistry of Reactive Astrocytes
Archives of Neurology, 1962In the present report the results of a morphologic histochemical study of oxidative enzymes in reactive astrocytes will be presented. This investigation was undertaken as an effort to determine whether reactive astrocytes show a different pattern of enzymatic activities from normal cells and if so, the duration of such changes.

Reactive oxidant species in asthma
Current Opinion in Pulmonary Medicine, 2006This overview summarizes some recent studies on the balance of oxidants to antioxidants in patients with asthma. The aim of the review is to compare studies on the changes in oxidants/antioxidants in stable asthma or in acute exacerbation of asthma. Our review of the recent literature in this field seems to indicate conflicting findings.
