Superconductor made by electrolyzed and oxidized water [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
By deintercalation of Na+ followed by inserting bilayers of water molecules into the host lattice, the layered cobalt oxide of gamma-Na0.7CoO2 undergoes a topotactic transformation to a layered cobalt oxyhydrate of Na0.35(H2O)1.3CoO2-delta with the c-axis expanded from c = 10.9 anstrom to c = 19.6 anstrom.

High-performance solid-state electrochemical thermal switches with earth-abundant cerium oxide [PDF]

open access: yesScience Adv. 11, eads6137 (2025)
Thermal switches, which electrically turn heat flow on and off, have attracted attention as thermal management devices. Electrochemical reduction/oxidation switches the thermal conductivity (\k{appa}\) of active metal oxide films. The performance of the previously proposed electrochemical thermal switches is low; on/off \k{appa}\-ratio is mostly less ...

Obesity alters the fitness of peritumoral adipose tissue, exacerbating tumor invasiveness in renal cancer through the induction of ADAM12 and CYP1B1

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor microenvironment drives cancer formation and progression. We analyzed the role of human cancer‐associated adipocytes from patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) stratified as lean, overweight, or obese. RNA‐seq demonstrated that, among the most altered genes involved in the tumor–stroma crosstalk, are ADAM12 and CYP1B1, which were proven to be ...

Thermal Treatment of Titania Slag under Oxidation-Reduction Conditions

open access: yesEurasian Chemico-Technological Journal, 2007
The present work provides a method for beneficiating of an Egyptian titanium slag by a thermal oxidation and reduction in a controlled gas atmosphere to obtain leachable slag suitable for use as a feed material in the production of TiO2 by chlorination ...

Factors controlling oxygen interstitial diffusion in the Ruddlesden-Popper oxide La2-xSrxNiO4+delta [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
The development of Ruddlesden-Popper (RP) oxides as oxygen exchange and transport materials will benefit from mechanistic understanding of how oxygen transports through these materials. Using Density Functional Theory, we found there are two distinct oxygen interstitial diffusion mechanisms involving two different oxygen interstitial species that can ...

THE EFFECT OF THE OXIDATION-REDUCTION CHARACTER OF THE MEDIUM ON THE GROWTH OF AN AEROBIC FORM OF BACTERIA

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1930
Studies on the oxidation-reduction potentials of bacterial systems have proceeded along two major lines: first, the effect of the oxidation-reduction character of the medium on the growth and activities of the bacteria; and second, the effect of the ...

Robust acute myeloid leukemia engraftment in humanized scaffolds using injectable biomaterials and intravenous xenotransplantation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived xenografts (PDXs) can be improved by implantation of a humanized niche. We tested different biomaterials and approaches, and demonstrate that the combination of an injectable biomaterial for scaffold creation plus an intravenous route for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) xenotransplantation provide the most convenient and robust approach to

Electrochemical data of ferrocenylsubphthalocyanine dyads

open access: yesData in Brief, 2020
The data presented in this paper is related to the research article entitled “Synthesis, Spectroscopy, Electrochemistry and DFT of Electron-Rich Ferrocenylsubphthalocyanines” [1] where electrochemical redox data and cyclic voltammograms at only a scan ...

Inhibition of acyl‐CoA synthetase long‐chain isozymes decreases multiple myeloma cell proliferation and causes mitochondrial dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Triacsin C inhibition of the acyl‐CoA synthetase long chain (ACSL) family decreases multiple myeloma cell survival, proliferation, mitochondrial respiration, and membrane potential. Made with Biorender.com. Multiple myeloma (MM) is an incurable cancer of plasma cells with a 5‐year survival rate of 59%.
