Recycling of Mill Scale Into High‐Purity Iron Through Hydrogen‐Based Reduction
Mill scale, an iron oxide–rich steel by‐product, is difficult to recycle due to impurities. This study evaluates hydrogen‐based direct reduction and hydrogen plasma smelting reduction as low‐carbon recycling routes. Impurity segregation limits reduction kinetics. Direct reduction achieves 92% conversion in 180 min, while plasma reduction reaches 91% in

Intensification of diesel oxidative desulfurization via hydrodynamic cavitation
A Hydrodynamic Cavitation Assisted Oxidative Desulfurization (HCAOD) process was applied for treatment of diesel fuel feedstock using hydrogen peroxide and formic acid as the oxidant and catalyst, respectively. Investigation on the effect of main process variables including pressure drop (3-6 bar), time of treatment (10-30 min) and formic acid to ...

ZnO‐Functionalized Silicon Carbide Ceramic Membranes for Removing Impurities From Biodiesel
Silicon carbide (SiC) ceramic membranes functionalized with zinc oxide (ZnO) were assessed for biodiesel purification through crossflow filtration. The ZnO–SiC membranes effectively retained metallic impurities, especially calcium, sodium, and phosphorus, achieving levels that meet biodiesel quality standards.

A polymeric hybrid material formulated as [MoO3(bis(pyrazolyl)methane)] has been prepared and used as a catalyst precursor for the complete oxidative desulfurization of a model diesel containing recalcitrant benzothiophene derivatives. The precursor is converted in situ to an oxodiperoxo active species which is retained in the recyclable extractant ...
