Oxidative desulfurization of benzene fraction on transition metal oxides
Russian Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2013It is established that molecular oxygen is able to oxidize thiophene selectively in a mixture with benzene on V2O5 · MoO3. The introduction of thiophene inhibits the oxidation of benzene. It is shown that the conversion of thiophene during operation of the catalyst is reduced at first and then increases until it reaches its initial value.

Peroxide Oxidative Desulfurization of a Diesel Fuel
Theoretical Foundations of Chemical Engineering, 2018The catalytic activity of transition metal compounds (Mo, V, and W) in the reaction of oxidative desulfurization of straight-run diesel fuel with hydrogen peroxide is studied. Oxidation with sodium molybdate decreases the total amount of sulfur in straight-run diesel by 43%, whereas the total amount of C20–C31 hydrocarbons is reduced from 87.4 to 83.6%.
