Nanostructured metal/oxide coatings

physica status solidi c, 2007
AbstractAl based nanocomposite coatings on Cu and glass substrates were obtained in the conditions of severe shear stresses by deformation scheme similar to that of friction. Structure, composition and micromechanical properties were investigated using AFM, XRD, SIMS, electron, optical microscopy and precision microindentation techniques.

Electrical Coating Method of Graphene Oxide

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2014
In this work, we use the electrical method to coat graphene oxide (GO) on ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) glass. The coated GO was characterized by Raman spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The coated surface was monitored by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and atomic force microscope (AFM).

Designing oxidation-resistant coatings

JOM, 2000
This article examines the historical development of high-temperature, oxidation- and corrosion-resistant coatings, demonstrating how diffusion surface treatments, modified diffusion coatings, the design of M-Cr-Al-X corrosion-resistant overlay coatings, and the application of thermal-barrier coatings can be used to reduce the scaling (oxidation) rate ...

Oxide thin films as bioactive coatings

Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2018
Growth and survival of biological cells (eukaryotes and prokaryotes) on artificial environments often depend on their interactions with the specific surface. Various organic materials can be coated on substrates to assist cells' adhesion and other subsequent cellular processes.

Phosphorylcholine Coating of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1999
In order to develop thin-walled superparamagnetic nanoparticle suspensions as a contrast agent for magnetic resonance imaging, phosphorylcholine PC was used to coat iron oxide cores of 5 nm. Weak stable positively charged suspensions can be obtained at concentration greater than 3 mmol.l-1 (corresponding to about 3.2 molecules per nm2), while the ...

Transparent Conducting Oxide Coatings

2004
Transparent conducting oxide coatings (TCO) occupy an important key position in the development of modern device technologies [1–3]. The combination of a high optical transmission in the visible with a high electronic conductivity, for example, makes them an essential component of various types of displays (e.g.

Control of Interfacial Properties through Fiber Coatings: Monazite Coatings in Oxide–Oxide Composites

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1997
Fiber pushout tests were used to quantify the effects of fiber coating thickness on the mechanical properties of two model composite systems: a monazite‐coated (LaPO 4 ‐coated) alumina (Al 2 O 3 ) fiber in an Al

Characterization of oxide coatings on glass

Fresenius' Journal of Analytical Chemistry, 1995
Some representative characteristics of oxide films deposited on glass by different techniques have been briefly described as well as several relevant methods of thin-film analysis to determine these quantities. The most powerful information obtained by some analytical techniques have been given, and some typical problems that may occur during the ...

Laser reflection from oxide-coated aluminum

Applied Optics, 1982
The theory of reflection from an oxide-coated metal is combined with experimentally measured parameters of aluminum to produce useful amplitude and phase shift information applicable to the concentration and direction of laser light. Amplitude and phase are plotted vs angle of incidence for several important laser wavelengths in the near UV, visible ...
