Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance of CoCrFeNiCu high entropy alloy coatings prepared with different sputtering powers

open access: yesXi'an Gongcheng Daxue xuebao, 2023
In order to explore the influence of magnetron sputtering process parameters on the corrosion resistance and high-temperature oxidation resistance of CoCrFeNiCu coatings, the coatings were prepared by DC magnetron sputtering with different sputtering ...

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Magnesium Oxide Use as a Pigment in Coating Formulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The objective of this project was to evaluate the performance of magnesium oxide as a possible pigment for use in paper coatings. The use of magnesium oxide as a pigment in coatings is not currently nor has it ever been practiced in a mill situation. The

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Microstructure change and deuterium permeation behavior of ceramic-metal multi-layer coatings after immersion in liquid lithium-lead alloy

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2018
For the establishment of liquid tritium breeding concepts, static lithium-lead corrosion tests for single-layer erbium oxide coatings and erbium oxide-metal multi-layer coatings were carried out, followed by deuterium permeation measurements.

Formation of Nano Interface by Sliding between Hard Coatings and Metals in MoDTC Contained Oil

open access: yesTribology Online, 2022
The viscosity of motor oil gets lower in order to decrease resistance at region of the fluid lubrication. On the other hands, this causes increasing of friction at the boundary lubrication region.

Effect of Cycle Frequency on High Temperature Oxidation Behavior of Alumina-forming Coatings Used for Industrial Gas Turbine Blades [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Oxidation kinetics of platinum modified aluminide and overlay coatings on nickel base superalloys were investigated. Isothermal oxidation tests were carried out at 1050°C in synthetic air. Cyclic oxidation tests were performed with 2 cycle frequencies :

Antibiofilm Nitric Oxide-Releasing Polydopamine Coatings

open access: yesACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2019
The growing number of patient morbidity related to nosocomial infections has placed an importance on the development of new antibacterial coatings for medical devices. Here, we utilize the versatile adhesion property of polydopamine (pDA) to design an antibacterial coating that possesses low-fouling and nitric oxide (NO)-releasing capabilities.
