Phosphate supplying power of rock phosphates in an oxisol
Plant and Soil, 1980The P-supplying power of triple superphosphate, three apatitic rock phospates and a calcined aluminum rock phosphate were tested by measuring the quantities of fertilizer P recovered in soybean and in four chemical extractants, after 3-day and 75-day periods of contact between soil and fertilizer.

Sorption of Paraquat on Clay Components in a Taiwan's Oxisol
Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part B, 2003The sorption of herbicides in soils is mainly influenced by clay components. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the contribution of clay components on paraquat sorption. The surface soils (0-20 cm) of a Laopi pedon (Fine, mixed, Hyperthermic Typic Hapludox) were separated clays into whole (< 2.0 microm), coarse (0.2-2.0 microm), and fine ...

Water fluxes in oxisols: A comparison of approaches
Water Resources Research, 1992Two approaches to simulating soil water flow were evaluated: a capacity‐type water flow model combined with a plant water uptake model based on the concept of plant‐available water, and a numerical solution to the Richards equation combined with a potential‐driven water uptake model.

Particle size distribution of Oxisols in Brazil
Geoderma Regional, 2016Abstract Soil texture or particle size distribution is of fundamental importance not only for understanding soil chemical and physical functioning but also for soil classification within a given taxonomic system. The objective of this study was to collect and analyze particle size data of Brazilian “Latossolos” (Oxisols) published in the Brazilian ...

Soil aggregate hierarchy in a Brazilian oxisol
2002Light and electron microscopy were used to investigate the applicability of the aggregate hierarchy model of Tisdal and Oades [1] to the micromorphology of the A horizon in a Brazilian Xanthic Hapludox soil under both forest and agricultural crop cover. The arrangement of minerals, amorphous material, organic matter, and biota in aggregates of diameter

Behavior of Cesium-137 in some Brazilian Oxisols
Communications in Soil Science and Plant Analysis, 2002Cesium-137 (137Cs) soil-to-plant transfer factors obtained in an accidentally contaminated Oxisol in Goiânia and another Oxisol experimentally contaminated show that these soils present higher transfer of 137Cs from soil to plants than previously observed in temperate climates.

Adsorption/Desorption of Organic Anions in Brazilian Oxisols
Communications in Soil Science and Plant Analysis, 2006Abstract Organic anions affect solute mobility in soils. This study evaluated citrate and oxalate adsorption (0 to 4 mmol L−1, soil–solution 1∶100, pH 5.5, ionic strength 30 mmol L−1 as NaCl, 72‐h reaction) and desorption (pH 5.5, 30‐mmol L−1 NaCl, 72 h) on A‐ and B‐horizon samples of two Brazilian Oxisols.

Microstructure and water retention of Oxisols in Thailand
Soil Research, 2005The moisture characteristics and related pore size distributions of Thai Oxisols were determined for 11 representative pedons. These soils are Kandiustox and Kandiudox located in the North-east Plateau, South-east Coast, and Peninsular Thailand. They are generally acidic (pH 5–6), clayey, have low cation exchange capacity (5–15 cmolc/kg) and have low ...
