SPATIAL AUTOCORRELATION OF PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES OF AN OXISOL [PDF]

open access: yesEngenharia Agrícola, 2021
ABSTRACT Studies that seek to identify a smaller number of soil attributes that represent others can generate less expenditure of time and financial resources for monitoring cultivated areas. Thus, this study aimed to analyze the spatial distribution and spatial autocorrelation of physical attributes of an Oxisol (Latossolo Vermelho Amarelo, Brazilian ...

COMPORTAMIENTO DE LA INFILTRACIÓN EN UN OXISOL BEHAVIOR OF THE INFILTRATION ON AN OXISOL

open access: yesRevista U.D.C.A Actualidad & Divulgación Científica, 2010

Effect of Land Use Change on Molecular Composition and Concentration of Organic Matter in an Oxisol

open access: yesEnvironmental Science and Technology
Land use change from native vegetation to cropping can significantly affect the quantity and quality of soil organic matter (SOM). However, it remains unclear how the chemical composition of SOM is affected by such changes.

Sorption and mobility of thiabendazole in a Brazilian Oxisol [PDF]

open access: yesCiência e Natura, 2020
Thiabendazole is a benzimidazole class drug that is widely used due to its vermifugal and fungicidal properties. The present study investigates the behaviour of TBZ in the A and B horizons of a Red-Yellow Latosol typical of southern Minas Gerais State, Brazil.

Ecological aspects of Bacillus thuringiensis in an Oxisol [PDF]

open access: yesScientia Agricola, 2003
Bacillus thuringiensis is a Gram positive, sporangial bacterium, known for its insecticidal habilities. Survival and conjugation ability of B. thuringiensis strains were investigated; vegetative cells were evaluated in non-sterile soil. Vegetative cells decreased rapidly in number, and after 48 hours the population was predominantly spores.

Correction of Acidity of a Brazilian Cerrado Oxisol with Limestone and Wood Ash on the Initial Growth of Cowpea

open access: yesAgricultural Science, 2019
Among Brazilian soils orders, there are some of it classified as acid soils, which need correction to guarantee crop productivity. Currently, limestone is the most used soil corrective and wood ash has been a sustainable alternative to this process. Thus,

Controls on mineral-associated organic matter formation in a degraded Oxisol

open access: yesGeoderma, 2019
Oxisols are the dominant soil type in humid tropical and subtropical regions and are subjected to both drying–rewetting (DRW) cycles and fluctuating oxygen (O2) availability driven by warm temperatures and abundant rainfall in surface layers.

Application of Principal Component Analysis and Probabilistic Neural Networks in Ferralsols Recovery Evaluation Through Planting of Mabea Fistulifera and Eucalyptus Urograndis

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study presents an innovative assessment model for analyzing the evolution of degraded soils subjected to different reclamation strategies. The proposal combines statistical and artificial intelligence tools to jointly integrate multiple physical and chemical soil properties, allowing for a more synthetic view of the processes.

Improved Cerrado Wetland Mapping Through Seasonal Moisture Metrics, Terrain Information and Semantic Segmentation

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
Brazil's Cerrado valley wetlands—swamp savanna and gallery forest—are highly important for the biome's water cycle and carbon storage and are susceptible to degradation from the impacts of land use expansion and the climate crisis. In support of their detailed monitoring and assessment, we developed and tested a transferable mapping approach that ...
