Discovering new mode‐of‐action pesticide leads inhibiting protein–protein interactions: example targeting plant O‐acetylserine sulfhydrylase

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 80, Issue 12, Page 6424-6436, December 2024.
The herbicide resistance crisis necessitates discovering molecules with new modes of action. Using computational screening, we identified molecules inhibiting key protein–protein interactions of plants’ cysteine biosynthesis with in planta herbicidal activity.

Surface Retention and Photochemical Reactivity of the Diphenylether Herbicide Oxyfluorfen

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Quality, 2004
ABSTRACTThe photochemical behavior of oxyfluorfen [2‐chloro‐1‐(3‐etoxy‐4‐nitrophenoxy)‐4‐(trifluoromethyl) benzene] on two Greek soils was investigated. Soils were sampled from Nea Malgara and Preveza regions, characterized by a different organic matter content.

WEED CONTROL IN SWEET POTATOES WITH OXYFLUORFEN [PDF]

open access: yesHortScience, 1991
Oxyfluorfen was evaluated for weed control in sweet potatoes. In 1989, applications were made overtop transplants immediately after transplanting. The 1990 applications were made just prior to transplanting. Oxyfluorfen applied post-transplant at 0.38 lb ai/A and greater rates caused a significant reduction in crop vigor.

Early production of switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.) and willow (Salix spp.) indicates carbon accumulation potential in Appalachian reclaimed mine and agriculture soil

open access: yesSoil Science Society of America Journal, Volume 88, Issue 3, Page 602-619, May/June 2024.
Abstract The production of bioproduct feedstocks such as switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.) and willow (Salix spp.) on degraded lands provides an opportunity to grow dedicated bioenergy crops with the potential to capture and store carbon in the soil while reducing competition with land for food production.
