Influence of Oxygen Carrier on the Autothermicity of a Chemical-Looping Reforming Process for Hydrogen Production

open access: yesReactions
The chemical-looping reforming (CLR) of methane for hydrogen production employs a solid oxygen carrier (OC) and combines endothermic and exothermic stages, allowing for potential autothermal operation.

Phospholipids as Oxygen Carriers

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1937
SummaryA buffered suspension of the phospholipid from liver and muscle had little or no oxidizing effect on a sensitive preparation of reduced methylene blue. After exposure to air for 24-48 hours, the phospholipid became soluble in water to a clear solution and had marked oxidizing effect on the reduced methylene blue.

New method for determining heats of combustion of gaseous hydrocarbons [PDF]

open access: yes
As a spin off of a system developed for monitoring and controlling the oxygen concentration in the Langley 8-foot High Temperature Tunnel, a highly accurate on-line technique was developed for determining heats of combustion of natural gas samples. It is

Controlling selectivity in the chemical looping oxidative dehydrogenation of propane through interface engineering

open access: yesNature Communications
The oxidative dehydrogenation of propane has the potential to reduce significantly the energy demand of propylene production. However, low propylene selectivity and the need for expensive air separation hamper its commercial implementation. In the herein
