Studying the effects of laccase treatment in a softwood dissolving pulp: cellulose reactivity and crystallinity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
An enzymatic biobleaching sequence (LVAQPO) using a laccase from Trametes villosa in combination with violuric acid (VA) and then followed by a pressurized hydrogen peroxide treatment (PO) was developed and found to give high bleaching properties and ...

Full Sequence Bleaching with Dimethyldioxirane [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Research work to date has shown dimethyldioxirane to be a very powerful, yet highly selective oxidant. Dimethyldioxirane bleaching may become more important in the future with legislative restrictions on chlorine based bleaching agents as it contains no ...

Enhancing Biogenic Formic Acid Production in the Modified OxFA Process by Acetonitrile Addition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, the beneficial effect of using acetonitrile as a co‐solvent in the modified OxFA process is shown, outperforming methanol, demonstrating improved reaction kinetics combined with high selectivity for the HPA‐2 (H5PV2Mo10O40) catalyzed oxidation of xylose to FA.

Impact of dissolved matter in the oxygen delignification stage

open access: yesTAPPI Journal, 2017
The presence of dissolved matter in the pulp suspension in an oxygen (O2) delignification stage, consisting mainly of dissolved lignin, is normally considered to negatively affect the delignification rate due to the competing reactions between the fiber bound lignin and the lignin dissolved in the filtrate.
