The Effect of H-Factor on Kappa Number and Viscosity in Continuous Digester [PDF]
One of the most important steps in pulping is the cooking process, which serves to separate the cellulose and hemicellulose from lignin and other by-products.

A CORRELATION BETWEEN THE KAPPA NUMBER AND THE VENTORIM INDEX IN THE BLEACHING PROCESS [PDF]
The determination of the kappa number in the bleaching process is typically conducted with a pulp quantity between 3 and 4 grams, allowing for the calculation of values above four. However, after the oxidative extraction stage with hydrogen peroxide, the

Physics-Guided Multi-Task Learning for Small-Sample Soft Sensing: Simultaneous Prediction of Kappa Number and Viscosity in Continuous Kraft Pulping [PDF]
In continuous kraft pulping, key quality indicators such as Kappa number and pulp viscosity are usually measured offline at low frequency, which limits real-time quality monitoring and control.

Impact of impregnation on high kappa number hardwood pulps
Mixed US southern hardwood chips were impregnated and cooked under various conditions in the laboratory. Kappa numbers between 15 and 55 were obtained. The reject content, kappa number, and yield were studied as a function of time, temperature, and alkali charge in the cooking.

The number of L_{infty,kappa}-equivalent non-isomorphic models for kappa weakly compact [PDF]
For a cardinal kappa and a model M of cardinality kappa let No(M) denote the number of non-isomorphic models of cardinality kappa which are L_{infty,kappa}--equivalent to M. In [Sh:133] Shelah established that when kappa is a weakly compact cardinal and mu<=kappa is a nonzero cardinal, there exists a model M of cardinality kappa with No(M)=mu.

Kappa ($\kappa$): The Largest Real Number, Constructed Through Limit Theory
We construct a real number $\kappa$, defined as the limit of the predecessor function $f(n) = n - 1$ as $n \to \infty$. The central argument is straightforward: \textbf{in mathematics, the limit of a function or sequence, when it exists as a value, is a real number.} Since $\kappa$ is defined as such a limit, it IS a real number.

The impact of kappa number composition on eucalyptus kraft pulp bleachability [PDF]
Consumption of chemicals during ECF bleaching of kraft pulp correlates reasonably well with kappa number, which measures with KMnO4 the total amount of oxidizable material in the pulp. However, the method does not distinguish between the oxidizable material in residual lignin and other structures susceptible to oxidation, such as hexenuronic acids ...
