Determining magmatic series and oxygen fugacity of volcanic rocks in the east of Kamu, north of Isfahan, based on biotite chemistry

open access: yesJournal of Economic Geology, 2014
Volcanic rocks of interest are situated in the middle part of the Urumieh-Dokhtar Magmatic Arc (UDMA). They are parts of a vast magmatic province located in the north of Bitlis-Zagros suture zone.

Atmospheric Chemistry of Secondary and Hybrid Atmospheres of Super Earths and Sub-Neptunes

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The atmospheres of small exoplanets likely derive from a combination of geochemical outgassing and primordial gases left over from formation. Secondary atmospheres, such as those of Earth, Mars, and Venus, are sourced by outgassing. Persistent outgassing

Sensibility of Tourmaline Chemistry to Granitic Magma Composition and Oxygen Fugacity

open access: yes, 2022
Extensive granitic magmatism is a dominant feature of the Central Iberian Zone (CIZ) of the Variscan Orogen. For the most part, these are S-type peraluminous granitic rocks exhibiting variable degrees of evolution and compositions ranging from granodiorites, through mon zogranites and granites to leucogranites, bearing either biotite and muscovite, or ...

Sulfur degassing at Erta Ale (Ethiopia) and Masaya (Nicaragua) volcanoes: Implications for degassing processes and oxygen fugacities of basaltic systems

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2013
We investigate the relationship between sulfur and oxygen fugacity at Erta Ale and Masaya volcanoes. Oxygen fugacity was assessed utilizing Fe3+/∑Fe and major element compositions measured in olivine‐hosted melt inclusions and matrix glasses.

The Role of Bubbles in Air‐Sea Gas Exchange: A Critical Review

open access: yesReviews of Geophysics, Volume 64, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Air‐sea gas exchange regulates the exchange of climatically important gases between the ocean and the atmosphere, shaping both climate and ocean biogeochemistry. Bubbles beneath the sea surface enhance this exchange by introducing an additional transfer pathway in parallel to the interfacial transfer route.

Light Element Exsolution in Fe‐Si‐C‐(H) System: A Mechanism for Powering Mercury's Early Core Dynamo

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 14, 28 July 2026.
Abstract Mercury is one of the few terrestrial planets in the solar system with a magnetic field, yet the energy source to power its core dynamo remains unclear to date. Si, C, and possibly H are the top candidate light elements for its liquid core. Here, we showed experimentally that Si, C, and H in Fe‐Si‐C and Fe‐Si‐C‐H liquids share a simultaneous ...
