Oxygen desaturation in adults following inhaled metaproterenol therapy

open access: closedThe Journal of Emergency Medicine, 1987
Following bronchodilator therapy in asthmatic patients, a fall in arterial oxygen tension (PaO2) has been attributed to increased perfusion of persistently underventilated alveoli. We used continuous noninvasive pulse oximetry to evaluate the extent and timing of oxygen saturation (SaO2) decrease in adults following metaproterenol inhalation for acute ...

Advantages of Oxygen Inhalation Therapy for Postoperative Pulmonary Hypertension

open access: closedPediatric Cardiology, 2004
Total correction was performed in a case of complete transposition of the great arteries (TGA) with severe pulmonary vascular obstructive disease (PVOD). A CRITICAL EVALUATION OF CARBON DIOXIDE OXYGEN INHALATION THERAPY IN MENTAL DISORDERS

open access: closedAmerican Journal of Psychiatry, 1953
1. The clinical, experimental, and theoretical literature on carbon dioxide oxygen inhalation therapy (CDT) is reviewed and critically evaluated. 2. The over-all improvement rate in 238 nonpsychotic patients treated with CDT, collected from the literature, is 61%.
