Microstructural development, electrical properties and oxygen permeation of zirconia-palladium composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Yttria-stabilized cubic zirconia (YSZ)-palladium dual phase composites have been investigated. The percolative composite containing 40 vol% Pd (ZYPd40) showed a much larger oxygen permeability than that of the non-percolative composite containing 30 vol%

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Stability of the superconducting $d_{x^2-y^2}$-wave pairing towards the intersite Coulomb repulsion between oxygen holes in high-T$_c$ superconductors

open access: yes, 2016
It is shown that an account for the space separatedness of the two-orbital subsystem of the oxygen holes and the subsystem of the localized spins of copper ions in high-T$_c$ cuprate superconductors leads to the stability of the superconducting $d_{x^2-y^

Preparation, structural characterisation and antibacterial properties of Ga-doped sol-gel phosphate-based glass [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A sol-gel preparation of Ga-doped phosphate-based glass with potential application in antimicrobial devices has been developed. Samples of composition (CaO)(0.30)(Na2O)(0.20-x) (Ga2O3) (x) (P2O5)(0.50) where x = 0 and 0.03 were prepared, and the ...

The pyruvate generator is a common phenomenon in mitochondria from different rat and mouse brain regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The pyruvate generator, which causes activation of respiration by extra‐mitochondrial Ca2+, is also present and functional in rat brainstem mitochondria, as it is in other brain regions. This finding is confirmed by experiments with a fully reconstituted malate–aspartate shuttle (MAS).

A Study of Ion-Ion Hybrid Instability in the Mixed Plasma [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 1987
There are more oxygen ions than hydrogen ions in the auroral field zone. We consider both analytic and numerical simulation study of the heating of hydrogen and oxygen ions by auroral electrons.

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 6, Page 1398-1419, June 2026.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

The Energetic Oxygen Ion Beams in the Martian Magnetotail Current Sheets: Hints From the Comparisons Between Two Types of Current Sheets

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Using data from the Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN) mission, we explore the plasma properties of Martian magnetotail current sheets (CS), to further understand the solar wind interaction with Mars and ion escape.

Analysis of transient characteristics for zinc-nickel single flow battery considering side reactions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2021
A two-dimensional transient model of zinc-nickel single flow battery considering side reaction is developed and is used to study the effects of concentration, flow rate and applied current density on the side reaction.

Formation of the oxygen torus in the inner magnetosphere: Van Allen Probes observations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We study the formation process of an oxygen torus during the 12–15 November 2012 magnetic storm, using the magnetic field and plasma wave data obtained by Van Allen Probes.
