Making Graphene Luminescent by Oxygen Plasma Treatment [PDF]

open access: yesACS Nano, 2009
We show that strong photoluminescence (PL) can be induced in single-layer graphene using an oxygen plasma treatment. The PL is spatially uniform across the flakes and connected to elastic scattering spectra distinctly different from those of gapless pristine graphene.

Low-energy linear oxygen plasma source [PDF]

open access: yesReview of Scientific Instruments, 2007
A new version of a constricted plasma source is described, characterized by all metal-ceramic construction, a linear slit exit of 180mm length, and cw operation (typically 50kHz) at an average power of 1.5kW. The plasma source is here operated with oxygen gas, producing streaming plasma that contains mainly positive molecular and atomic ions, and to a ...

Cold plasma-treated ringer’s saline: a weapon to target osteosarcoma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Osteosarcoma (OS) is the main primary bone cancer, presenting poor prognosis and difficult treatment. An innovative therapy may be found in cold plasmas, which show anti-cancer effects related to the generation of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species in ...

Performance Improvement of Amorphous Ga2O3/P-Si Deep Ultraviolet Photodetector by Oxygen Plasma Treatment

open access: yesCrystals, 2021
Gallium oxide (Ga2O3) is an attractive semiconductor that is very suitable for deep ultraviolet (DUV) inspection. However, due to the existence of many types of oxygen vacancies in the amorphous Ga2O3 (a-Ga2O3) film, it greatly limits the performance of ...

Variations in Plant Growth Characteristics Due to Oxygen Plasma Irradiation on Leaf and Seed

open access: yesAgronomy, 2022
Gene expression variations of plant leaf are investigated by irradiating seed and leaf with oxygen or air plasmas. Enhancement of leaf growth is induced by oxygen plasma irradiation on seeds, which is supported by increased gene expression for protein ...

Measurement of arterial plasma oxygenation in dynamic oxygen‐enhanced MRI [PDF]

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, 2010
AbstractInhaled oxygen can be used as a contrast agent for magnetic resonance imaging, due to the T1 shortening effect of the oxygen dissolved in blood and tissue water. In this study, blood T1 was measured dynamically in 14 volunteers (seven smokers, seven never‐smokers) as the inhaled gas was switched from medical air to 100% oxygen and back to ...
