Induced Photonic Response of ZnO Nanorods Grown on Oxygen Plasma-Treated Seed Crystallites

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2018
We examined the influence of O2 plasma treatment for the ZnO seed layer (SL) crystallites on the material characteristics of ZnO nanorods (NRs) synthesized by the hydrothermal method. Diode photocurrent and photo-response transient characteristics of the

Adhesion of endothelial cells and adsorption of serum proteins on gas plasma-treated polytetrafluoroethylene [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
From in vitro experiments it is known that human endothelial cells show poor adhesion to hydrophobic polymers. The hydrophobicity of vascular prostheses manufactured from Teflon® or Dacron® may be the reason why endothelialization of these grafts does ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Pulsed laser deposition of SrTiO3/LaGaO3 and SrTiO3/LaAlO3: plasma plume effects

open access: yes, 2010
Pulsed laser deposition of SrTiO3/LaGaO3 and SrTiO3/LaAlO3 interfaces has been analyzed with a focus on the kinetic energy of the ablated species. LaGaO3 and LaAlO3 plasma plumes were studied by fast photography and space-resolved optical emission ...
