Surface‐Functionalized LLZO‐Incorporated Multilayer Composite Solid Electrolytes for Dendrite Suppression and Efficient Ionic Conduction in Lithium–Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A soft–hard tri‐layer composite electrolyte that couples fast Li+ transport with reinforced interfacial stability to enable high‐conductivity, mechanically robust, dendrite‐free lithium‐metal batteries. ABSTRACT The development of solid polymer electrolytes is central to safe, high‐energy lithium‐metal batteries (LMBs); however, persistent challenges ...

Conductive Additives for Next‐Generation Batteries: Emphasizing the Potential of Bio‐Derived 3D Carbon Architectures at Electrode–Electrolyte Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
3D conductive frameworks can maintain continuous electron transport, mechanical stability, and interfacial integrity, helping next‐generation batteries operate more efficiently. This Review examines their relevance to Si anodes, all‐solid‐state batteries, and dry‐processed electrodes, and highlights bio‐derived carbons as sustainable, structurally ...

Stabilizing Electrochemical Interfaces With Multifunctional Cobalt Nitride Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Cobalt nitrides emerged recently as an interesting class of earth‐abundant oxygen evolution catalysts. Herein, plasma‐enhanced atomic layer deposition is used to synthesize multifunctional cobalt nitride layers that simultaneously protect and catalytically activate photoelectrode surfaces.

Multilayered Digital Microfluidic Chip for Cell‐Based Assays

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A multilayered digital microfluidic (mDMF) chip architecture is introduced to improve throughput and robustness in cell‐based assays. By multilayering electrode components and dielectric layers on glass, this design significantly reduces actuation voltage, maintains reliability, and enables expansion of the operational area with minimum current leakage.

Femtosecond‐Laser Mould Texturing Enables Tunable Biointerfaces in COC Microfluidics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Femtosecond‐laser texturing of injection‐mould inserts enables scalable engineering of biointerfaces in cyclic olefin copolymer microfluidics. Replicated micro‐ and nano‐topographies modulate surface roughness and wettability, leading to texture‐dependent protein adsorption and cell adhesion without chemical post‐processing.

Oxygen atom density in microwave oxygen plasma

Vacuum, 2007
Abstract We determined the density of neutral oxygen atoms in microwave plasma using a fiber-optics catalytic probe (FOCP). Plasma was created within a quartz tube with an outer diameter of 5 cm by a 2.45 GHz microwave generator with an output power up to 1000 W. The oxygen flow was varied between 4 and 20 l/h.

Sterilization by Pure Oxygen Plasma and by Oxygen - Hydrogen Peroxide Plasma: an Efficacy Study

International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2007
Plasma is an innovative sterilization method characterized by a low toxicity to operators and patients, and also by its operation at temperatures close to room temperatures. The use of different parameters for this method of sterilization and the corresponding results were analyzed in this study. A low-pressure inductive discharge was used to study the

Plasma Oxygen during Cardiopulmonary Bypass: A Comparison of Blood Oxygen Levels with Oxygen Present in Plasma Lipid

Clinical Science, 1998
1. Although not often appreciated, it is a fact that molecular oxygen is more soluble in lipids than in aqueous solution. We have recently developed a method to monitor oxygen within the lipid content of plasma. Monitoring plasma oxygen is one essential element during open heart surgery using a cardiopulmonary bypass pump and oxygenator.

Sterilization by oxygen plasma

Applied Surface Science, 2004
Abstract The use of polymeric medical devices has stimulated the development of new sterilization methods. The traditional techniques rely on ethylene oxide, but there are many questions concerning the carcinogenic properties of the ethylene oxide residues adsorbed on the materials after processing.

Anodic oxidation of GaAs in oxygen plasma

1977 International Electron Devices Meeting, 1977
This paper deals with the development of a new technology of forming an oxide film on GaAs. It can be used for surface passivation of GaAs or other compound semiconductor devices, for gate insulation of GaAs MISFETs and also for isolation in GaAs IC. A low temperature of below 300°C is required to prevent the evaporation of As during oxidation.
