Fullerene Reactivity in an Oxygen Plasma

Fullerene Science and Technology, 1997
Abstract Fullerene reactivity in an oxygen plasma was measured and compared with those determined under the same conditions for a comprehensive set of 50 carbon materials. The possible reasons for the high plasma reactivity of the fullerene sample in an oxygen plasma are discussed.

Energetic Characteristics of Oxygen Plasma

Contributions to Plasma Physics, 1990
AbstractA low‐temperature oxygen plasma is studied using the thermocouple, probe and spectral method in the range of 2–8 Torr pressure, 30–100 mA discharge currents, 0, 5, 10 m/s pumping velocity. The gas temperature, concentrations of electrons and oxygen atoms in the 3p5P state, and the longitudinal electric field are measured.

Kinetic features of plasma etching of polycarbonate in oxygen plasma

High Energy Chemistry, 2017
Changes in surface properties and composition of the surface layer of polycarbonate of the Lexan LS2 and Lexan 8010 brands after treatment in the positive column of glow-discharge oxygen plasma have been studied. The amount of the polymer loaded for processing has been shown to affect the kinetics of etching and modifying the polycarbonate surface.

Determination of Atomic Oxygen in Atmospheric Plasma from Oxygen Isotope Exchange

Plasma Processes and Polymers, 2011
AbstractOxygen scrambling is observed when a 1:1 mixture of 16O2 and 18O2 in nitrogen/helium buffer (total O2: 5–20%) is treated at atmospheric pressure in a surface discharge plasma reactor. The statistical isotope distribution (16O2/18O2/16O18O = 1:1:2) is achieved with a very low SIE (i.e., the energy per unit volume).

Macroscopic modeling of oxygen plasmas

Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology A: Vacuum, Surfaces, and Films, 1990
This paper describes a macroscopic model of parallel-plate, radio frequency (rf), oxygen plasma discharges. The model predicts fundamental plasma characteristics as a function of controllable parameters such as pressure, power, and electrode spacing.

Plasma Leakage of Oxygenators in ECMO Depends on the Type of Oxygenator and on Patient Variables

The International Journal of Artificial Organs, 2005
This study was conducted to identify the causes of plasma leakage of oxygenators in extra corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). From 1996 through 2002, 91 oxygenators were used in 62 patients undergoing ECMO for respiratory and/or cardiac failure. Several types of oxygenators were used (Medtronic Maxima, Minima, PRF, Medos Hilite).

Selective Anodic Oxidation of Silicon in Oxygen Plasma

IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 1980
Plasma-enhanced oxidation process at low temperature was studied for the selective oxidation of silicon. Silicon dioxide films as thick as 1 /spl mu/m were routinely obtained at the substrate temperature of 600/spl deg/C. The oxidation was found to proceed through the motion of both oxygen and silicon ions and/or their vacancies under the electric ...

Oxygen Plasma-Treatment Effects on Si Transfer

Langmuir, 2005
Oxygen plasma-treatment is commonly used to increase the hydrophilicity of poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) stamps used for microcontact printing (muCP) aqueous-based inks. Review of the literature reveals that a wide range of plasma parameters are currently employed to modify stamp surfaces.

Plasma processing of PET in an oxygen decoupled plasma source

2014 IEEE 41st International Conference on Plasma Sciences (ICOPS) held with 2014 IEEE International Conference on High-Power Particle Beams (BEAMS), 2014
Samples of poly(ethylene terepthalate) (PET), 200 mm, were exposed to an energetic oxygen discharge from a decoupled plasma source, in order to modify local surface properties. Samples were placed at two distances, 13 cm and 20 cm, from the top of the discharge coil to assess the interaction between the sample and the DPS discharge.

Cleaning of Porous Aluminium Titanate by Oxygen Plasma

Plasma Chemistry and Plasma Processing, 2006
The removal of organic contaminants from porous Al2TiO5 during treatment in oxygen plasma was studied by optical emission spectroscopy (OES). The samples of Al2TiO5 were immersed into water emulsion of mineral oil for 3 hours to get soaked. Then they were thoroughly cleaned in ultrasound to remove oil from the surface.
