Machine learning–guided engineering of a plectasin‐derived peptide yields DC05, a potent antimycobacterial candidate. Encapsulation into tuftsin‐functionalized mesoporous silica nanoparticles enhances intracellular delivery, stability, and activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis while maintaining low cytotoxicity and minimal hemolysis. The combined

Copper–Collagen Interactions Regulate the Mechanical and Invasive Properties of Tumor Spheroids
Ionic copper is investigated as a modulator of tumor spheroid growth and invasiveness in a 3D microfluidic glioblastoma model. Copper exposure alters metabolic activity, cytoskeletal organization, protrusion dynamics, and EMT‐related phenotypes in a dose‐ and timing‐dependent manner, revealing how copper bioavailability shapes tumor aggressiveness ...

Oxygen atom density in microwave oxygen plasma
Vacuum, 2007Abstract We determined the density of neutral oxygen atoms in microwave plasma using a fiber-optics catalytic probe (FOCP). Plasma was created within a quartz tube with an outer diameter of 5 cm by a 2.45 GHz microwave generator with an output power up to 1000 W. The oxygen flow was varied between 4 and 20 l/h.

Sterilization by oxygen plasma
Applied Surface Science, 2004Abstract The use of polymeric medical devices has stimulated the development of new sterilization methods. The traditional techniques rely on ethylene oxide, but there are many questions concerning the carcinogenic properties of the ethylene oxide residues adsorbed on the materials after processing.

Plasma cathode oxygen ion source
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 1991Abstract A plasma cathode ion source has been developed to attain a long lifetime for oxygen ion production. In this ion source, an Ar plasma which is non-reactive plasma serves as a cathode for a thermionic hot cathode used in the Kaufman ion source. This ion source consists of two compartments: (1) a plasma generator, and (2) a plasma chamber.
