Effects of high-flow oxygen therapy on oxygenation in dogs undergoing diagnostic bronchoscopy

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science
IntroductionHypoxemia is a common complication during bronchoscopy and bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL). High-Flow Oxygen Therapy (HFOT) has been used to improve oxygenation and prevent periods of hypoxemia in people undergoing bronchoscopy.ObjectiveThe main

Acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock: an algorithm based ECMO program can improve clinical outcomes. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Objective: Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in our institution resulted in near total mortality prior to the establishment of an algorithm-based program in July 2010. We hypothesized that an algorithm based ECMO program improves the outcome of

Visible Light Induced DLP‐Printed Oxygen‐Releasing TPMS Scaffolds Mitigate Early Hypoxia in Bone Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Visible light‐induced digital light processing 3D printed Primitive‐triply periodic minimal surface hydrogels embed CaO2–Si core–shell nanoparticles to deliver short‐term oxygen during the avascular window. The scaffolds maintain cytocompatibility, elevate osteopontin in vitro, and enhance calvarial defect repair in vivo without toxicity.

Computerised tomography indices of raised intracranial pressure and traumatic brain injury severity in a New Zealand sample [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
After traumatic brain injury (TBI) complex cellular and biochemical processes occur¹ including changes in blood flow and oxygenation of the brain; cerebral swelling; and raised intracranial pressure (ICP).² This can dramatically worsen the damage³ and ...
