Possible Mechanisms of Oxygen Uptake Kinetics.

open access: yesThe Annals of physiological anthropology, 1992
The VO2 response to a step change in work rate resembles a first order exponential function. This suggests that a single site of the many which link ATP demand to VO2 is limiting. The location of this site is controversial. Some authors suggest that O2 delivery regulates the VO2 response.

3D Nanorod‐Shaped Binder‐Free Ni1−xFexCo2O4 Anodes Demonstrate High Performance and Stable Operation Under Accelerated Stress Tests in Anion Exchange Membrane Water Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
3D shaping of Ni1‐xFexCo2O4 spinel electrocatalyst to form high aspect ratio nanorods, made of 25 nm grain size particles and directly grown on Nickel felt, is proposed to improve the performance of industrial catalysts based on group‐VIII transition‐metal oxides.

Multilayer Biobased Poly(ethylene furanoate)/Graphene Oxide Nanofibrous Membranes With Directional Water Transport for Efficient Microplastics Filtration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A self‐assembled multilayer biobased PEF/GO nanofibrous membrane was developed by electrospinning for efficient PLA microplastics (MPs) filtration. The membrane combines superhydrophilicity, directional water transport, mechanical robustness, and a synergistic size‐exclusion interception and electrostatic repulsion MPs separation mechanism, enabling ...

Menstrual cycle does not impact the hypoxic ventilatory response and acute mountain sickness prediction

open access: yesScientific Reports
The relationship between the variations in ovarian hormones (i.e., estrogens and progesterone) and the hypoxic ventilatory response (HVR) remains unclear.

A Constraint‐Based Analytical Framework for Design‐Space Analysis and Material Screening of Tubular Multilayer Dielectric Elastomer Pumps for Extracorporeal Circulatory Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A constraint‐based analytical framework maps the coupled effects of material properties, structural parameters, and operating conditions in tubular dielectric elastomer pumps for extracorporeal circulatory applications. The approach defines performance boundaries through mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic constraints and identifies feasible design ...

VDAC1 Upregulation Induces Hyperexcitability of Nociceptive Sensory Neurons Via Enhanced Mitochondrial Atp Efflux in Neuropathic Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The mechanism diagram of VDAC1 mediating neuronal excitability and neuropathic pain. Briefly, VDAC1 is expressed in DRG neurons and is upregulated following CCI‐induced neuropathic pain. This upregulation enhances ATP transport from mitochondria to the cytoplasm in sensory neurons, leading to increased neuronal excitability and pain behavior.

Sustainable Fabrication of Tailored Bone Substitutes: From High‐Throughput Scaffold Manufacturing, Scaled‐Up HMSC Expansion to Dynamic Cultivation in a Perfusion Bioreactor

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The demand for off‐the‐shelf biocompatible bone substitutes has driven the development of numerous independent in vitro technologies to generate products resembling physiological tissues. Due to technical challenges and overly simplified cultivation approaches/niches, the end‐products are often uniformly shaped and inferior to native bone ...

Peritoneal Infusion of Oxygen Microbubbles Alters the Metabolomic Profile of the Lung and Spleen in Acute Hypoxic Exposure

open access: yesBioengineering
Administration of oxygen microbubbles (OMBs) has been shown to increase oxygen and decrease carbon dioxide in systemic circulation, as well as reduce lung inflammation and promote survival in preclinical models of hypoxia caused by lung injury.

Molecular Editing Reveals a Bilobalide Chemotype that Attenuates Prolyl Endopeptidase (PREP)‐Linked Neuroinflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Molecular editing of bilobalide uncovers BB56, a PREP‐engaging chemotype with enhanced anti‐inflammatory activity in microglia. Integrated CETSA‐MS, SAR, and pathway analyses link BB56 to attenuation of p38 MAPK/NF‐κB and NLRP3‐associated inflammatory signaling, highlighting bilobalide editing as a strategy for developing neuroinflammation‐modulating ...
