Cathodic Hydroxide Ions Induce Tetrose Formation during Glycolaldehyde Electroreduction to Alcohols: A Potential CO2‐to‐Carbohydrate Pathway

The glycolaldehyde electrolysis mechanism to alcohols and tetroses is comprehensively studied. Novel insights on the role of glycolaldehyde in the late stages of the overall CO2 reduction reaction pathways to ethanol and ethylene glycol on copper are presented.

Precise Engineering of Asymmetric Tri‐Active Sites by Symbiotic Strategy for Photocontrolled Directional Reforming of Biomass

A symbiotic strategy is proposed by DFT predictions for the rational design of CuxTiO2 SACs. The Cu SAs are introduced to form an asymmetric Cu–Ov–Ti structure, which significantly enhances the adsorption and activation of O2 and HMF on the catalyst.
