Hydrolysis of 4-acetoxystyrene polymers prepared by atom transfer radical polymerization
Hydrolysis of 4-acetoxystyrene polymers prepared by atom transfer radical polymerization was carried out under various reaction conditions. It was found that hydrazinolysis of 4-acetoxystyrene homopolymers, random and block copolymers with styrene in 1,4-

As an approach toward controlled molecular architecture through stable free radical polymerization (SFRP), we have prepared a series of oligomers of controlled molecular weights (Mn) and low polydispersities (structures 2 and 3, with n values ranging ...

Living atom transfer radical polymerization of 4-acetoxystyrene
Living atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of 4-acetoxystyrene (1), a protected 4-vinylphenol, leading to poly(4-acetoxystyrene) with well-defined molecular weight and narrow molecular weight distribution was carried out in bulk with a,a ...

Poly(p-acetoxystyrene) resin: a prospective new support for combinatorial synthesis
Journal of the Chemical Society, Perkin Transactions 2, 1995A range of spherical particulate resins have been prepared in high yield by suspension polymerisation of mixtures of p-acetoxystyrene (AS), styrene (S) and divinylbenzene. The particle size is typically 100–400 µm. The functional group content has been varied from ca. 15–60% and the degree of cross-linking from ca. 2–20%.

Abstract Polystyrene-core poly(p-vinylphenol)-shell (PS–PVPh) latexes were prepared by the hydrolysis of polystyrene-core poly(p-acetoxystyrene)-shell (PS–PAS) latexes. Polymerization conditions required for uniform core/shell structures were identified.
