Estimates of the principal eigenvalue of the $p$-Laplacian and the $p$-biharmonic operator [PDF]

open access: yesMathematica Bohemica, 2015
Summary: We survey recent results concerning estimates of the principal eigenvalue of the Dirichlet \(p\)-Laplacian and the Navier \(p\)-biharmonic operator on a ball of radius \(R\) in \(\mathbb{R}^N\) and its asymptotics for \(p\) approaching 1 and \(\infty\). Let \(p\) tend to \(\infty\).

Sequences of weak solutions to a fourth-order elliptic problem

open access: yesAtti della Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti : Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali, 2020
This paper contains some results of existence of infinitely many solutions to an elliptic equation involving the p(x)-biharmonic operator coupled with Navier boundary conditions where the nonlinearities depend on two real parameters and do not possess ...

On the estimation of the eigenfunctions of biharmonic operator in closed domain [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In the current research, the sufficient conditions for uniform convergence of the eigenfunction expansions of the biharmonic operator in closed domain are investigated.

Segmented Therapeutic Delivery via Acoustic Microbubble Relay

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
An acoustically driven, modular segmented delivery system is presented to overcome mechanical limitations of conventional microcatheters. Oscillating microbubbles generate directional streaming that enables continuous, targeted transport across open, angled segments.

Mixed finite element method for a beam equation with the p(x)-biharmonic operator

open access: yesComputers & Mathematics with Applications, 2023
In this paper, we consider a nonlinear beam equation with the p-biharmonic operator, where $1 < p < \infty$. Using a change of variable, we transform the problem into a system of differential equations and prove the existence, uniqueness and regularity of the weak solution by applying the Lax-Milgram theorem and classical results of functional ...

Challenges and Opportunities in Multi‐Method Integrated Geophysical Prospection of Buried Building Remains at the Sanctuary of Olympia

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ancient Olympia was one of the most important sanctuaries and the venue for the Olympic Games in Greek and Roman times. Its remains are located in the Olympia Terrace (Peloponnese, Greece) at the present‐day confluence of the rivers Alpheios and Kladeos at the base of Mount Kronos.

Trivariate Biharmonic B‐Splines

open access: yes, 2015
.In this paper, we formulate a novel trivariate biharmonic B‐spline defined over bounded volumetric domain. The properties of bi‐Laplacian have been well investigated, but the straightforward generalization from bivariate case to trivariate one gives ...

Inverse scattering for three-dimensional quasi-linear biharmonic operator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
We consider an inverse scattering problem of recovering the unknown coefficients of a quasi-linearly perturbed biharmonic operator in the three-dimensional case.

Analytical stress solution framework for lined compressed air energy storage chambers and its application to safe burial depth determination and supporting effectiveness evaluation

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
An analytical framework delivers a closed‐form stress solution for lined compressed air energy storage chambers, enabling the determination of the minimum safe burial depth. The solution quantitatively evaluates lining support effectiveness, offering a reliable tool for chamber design and optimization.
