Structural analysis of Salmonella enterica effector protein SopD [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Salmonella outer protein D (SopD) is a type III secreted virulence effector protein from Salmonella enterica. Full-length SopD and SopD lacking 16 amino acids at the N-terminus (SopDDeltaN) have been expressed as fusions with GST in Escherichia coli ...

A Super‐Enhancer‐Driven Transcriptional Regulatory Circuit Underlying Abiraterone Resistance in Castration‐Resistant Prostate Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Castration‐resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) remains the leading cause of mortality among prostate cancer patients. While second‐generation androgen receptor (AR) pathway‐targeted therapies, such as Abiraterone, have significantly improved survival ...

P PROTEIN IN THE PHLOEM OF CUCURBITA [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Cell Biology, 1968
Light and electron microscopical observations of the cells of the phloem of Cucurbita maxima have shown that two distinct types of P-protein bodies are formed: a larger type which arises as fine fibrils and a smaller type which apparently arises as groups of tubules.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Reexamination of the Sendai Virus P Protein Domains Required for RNA Synthesis: A Possible Supplemental Role for the P Protein

open access: yesVirology, 1996
The Sendai virus P protein plays a central role in viral genome amplification and expression, forming complexes with the viral L protein to generate the polymerase (P-L) and unassembled N (P-N(o)). This latter complex prevents N from self-assembling illegitimately, i.e., independently of the concurrent assembly of a nascent viral genome, and is thought

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Acidic ribosomal P proteins are phosphorylated in Trypanosoma cruzi

open access: yesInternational Journal for Parasitology, 2001
Trypanosoma cruzi ribosomes from epimastigote forms were purified as determined by electron microscopy and isoelectrofocusing was used to analyse this purified ribosome fraction. Silver stained gels revealed that acidic proteins are present in at least 10 different isoforms, in accord with previous cloning studies.

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Lupus autoantibodies target ribosomal P proteins. [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of experimental medicine, 1985
All nine SLE (systemic lupus erythematosus) sera with antiribosomal antibody activity targeted the same three ribosomal protein antigens, of molecular masses 38 and 17/19 kD when analyzed by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and Western blotting. One serum reacted with an additional protein of approximately kD. Ribosomal subunit

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...
