Bayesian Geoadditive Seemingly Unrelated Regression [PDF]
Parametric seemingly unrelated regression (SUR) models are a common tool for multivariate regression analysis when error variables are reasonably correlated, so that separate univariate analysis may result in inefficient estimates of covariate effects. A

Pspatreg: R Package for Semiparametric Spatial Autoregressive Models
This article introduces the R package pspatreg, which is publicly available for download from the Comprehensive R Archive Network, for estimating semiparametric spatial econometric penalized spline (P-Spline) models.

Feature Extraction in Signal Regression: A Boosting Technique for Functional Data Regression [PDF]
Main objectives of feature extraction in signal regression are the improvement of accuracy of prediction on future data and identification of relevant parts of the signal. A feature extraction procedure is proposed that uses boosting techniques to select

Local Asymptotics of P-splines
This report studies local asymptotics of P-splines with $p$th degree B-splines and a $m$th order difference penalty. Earlier work with $p$ and $m$ restricted is extended to the general case. Asymptotically, penalized splines are kernel estimators with equivalent kernels depending on $m$, but not on $p$.

Multidimensional Adaptive P-Splines with Application to Neurons' Activity Studies
Abstract The receptive field (RF) of a visual neuron is the region of the space that elicits neuronal responses. It can be mapped using different techniques that allow inferring its spatial and temporal properties. Raw RF maps (RFmaps) are usually noisy, making it difficult to obtain and study important features of the RF.

Penalized additive regression for space-time data: a Bayesian perspective [PDF]
We propose extensions of penalized spline generalized additive models for analysing space-time regression data and study them from a Bayesian perspective.

Use of nonparametric regression methods for developing a local stem form model
A local mean stem curve of spruce was represented using regression splines. Abilities of smoothing spline and P-spline to model the mean stem curve were evaluated using data of 85 carefully measured stems of Norway spruce. For both techniques the optimal

Hospital Readmission After Traumatic Brain Injury Hospitalization in Community‐Dwelling Older Adults
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the risk of hospital readmission after an index hospitalization for TBI in older adults. Methods Using data from the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) study, we used propensity score matching of individuals with an index TBI‐related hospitalization to individuals with (1) non‐TBI hospitalizations (primary analysis)
