Evaluation of Digital Technologies for Home‐Based Assessment in People With Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Digital technologies hold promise for transforming healthcare by enhancing personalized treatments and offer valuable opportunities to improve patient care. Here, we evaluated several novel, self‐administered, home‐based, digital endpoints for their association with corresponding conventional standard clinical measures (primary) in ...

P2-Type Moisture-Stable and High-Voltage-Tolerable Cathodes for High-Energy and Long-Life Sodium-Ion Batteries

open access: yes, 2023
P2-Na0.67Ni0.33Mn0.67O2 represents a promising cathode for Na-ion batteries, but it suffers from severe structural degradation upon storing in a humid atmosphere and cycling at a high cutoff voltage.

Interaction of Intraprocedural Antiplatelets and Intravenous Thrombolysis in Acute Intracranial Stenting: RESISTANT Registry Subanalysis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction/Objective Acute intracranial stenting during endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) for ischemic stroke requires intraprocedural antiplatelet therapy (APT) to maintain patency. However, the hemorrhagic risk of combining APT with intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) remains uncertain.

The relationship between P2X4 and P2X7: a physiologically important interaction? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Purinergic signaling within the kidney is becoming an important focus in the study of renal health and disease. The effectors of ATP signaling, the P2Y and P2X receptors, are expressed to varying extents in and along the nephron.

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Vitamin B12 concentrations and clinical spectrum of apparently healthy elderly population [PDF]

open access: yesPerspectives In Medical Research, 2020
Introduction : Prevalence of vitamin B12 deficiency is believed to increase with aging. The wide and non-specific spectrum of clinical presentations in patients poses a tough challenge to physicians suspecting vitamin B12 deficiency.

Phylogenetic structure and evolution of regulatory genes and integrases of P2-like phages

open access: yes, 2011
The phylogenetic relationships and structural similarities of the proteins encoded within the regulatory region (containing the integrase gene and the lytic – lysogenic transcriptional switch genes) of P2-like phages were analyzed, and compared to the ...

p2

open access: yes, 2022
Let f(x) be a polynomial with integer coefficients. We say that the prime p is a prime divisor of f(x) if p divides f(m) some integer m. For each positive integer n, we give an explicit construction of a polynomial all of whose prime divisors are +/- 1 ...

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.
