A Somatic Mutation in HIF‐2α Affects Glucose and Lipid Metabolism via CD36 and Ceramide

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 1, 15 January 2026.
A mutation within the C‐terminal transactivation domain of HIF‐2α enhances Cd36 expression by increased transactivation activity, leading to ceramide accumulation and disruption of glucose and lipid metabolism. Inhibition of ceramide synthesis by myriocin reduces ceramide levels and ameliorates these metabolic disturbances.

The Long Non‐Coding RNA Obesity‐Related (Obr) Contributes To Lipid Metabolism Through Epigenetic Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Obesity is a multifactorial disease that is part of today's epidemic and also increases the risk of other metabolic diseases. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) provide one tier of regulatory mechanisms to maintain metabolic homeostasis.

Elevated EBF2 in mouse but not pig drives the progressive brown fat lineage specification via chromatin activation

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Research
Brown adipose tissue (BAT) is responsible for non-shivering thermogenesis, but it is absent in some mammals, including pigs. During development, BAT progenitors are derived from paired box 7 (Pax7)-expressing somitic mesodermal stem cells, which also ...

The relationship between factor inhibiting HIF-1-alpha (HIF1AN( expression and vascular invasion in colon cancer

open access: yesThe Journal of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences, 2016
Background: Hypoxia is a common phenomenon in human solid tumors which by increasing in angiogenesis induction cause tumor growth survival and metastasis. Inhibitory factor hypoxia regulatory factor (HIF1AN) by binding to transcription co activators

Chemotherapy‐Mediated Induction of PD‐L1 via SEI1 Facilitates Myeloma Immune Evasion

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Multiple myeloma (MM) is a plasma cell‐derived malignancy. While immune checkpoint blockade immunotherapy has advanced myeloma treatment, chemotherapy remains the primary therapy.

Synthetic transactivation screening reveals ETV4 as broad coactivator of hypoxia-inducible factor signaling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The human prolyl-4-hydroxylase domain (PHD) proteins 1-3 are known as cellular oxygen sensors, acting via the degradation of hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) α-subunits.
