Small punch testing of P91 steel
International Journal of Pressure Vessels and Piping, 2006Abstract Results of small punch tests on miniaturized thin discs of P91 steel are compared with relevant conventional tests on bulk specimens. Small punch tests under constant displacement rate were performed at room temperature and 873 K. The results were correlated with results of conventional stress–strain tests. Results of small punch tests under

Alloy Digest, 1993
Abstract T91/P91 is a ferritic chromium/molybdenum alloy that is microalloyed with vanadium and columbium (niobium) and has nitrogen. The first Super 9% Cr steel was originally approved and developed for superheaters and reheat superheaters.

Study on the softening mechanism of P91 steel
Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2018Abstract Different tempering temperatures were designed to study on the softening mechanism of P91 steel. The variations in the microstructures and mechanical properties of the steel tempered at different temperatures were investigated. After tempered at the temperature below 790 °C, the microstructure of P91 steel mainly consisted of tempered lath ...

Thermomechanical Cyclic Properties of P91 Steel
2019The paper presents the results of low-cycle fatigue tests on P91 steel specimens, carried out under constant strain and constant stress conditions, in several test temperatures. The analysis of the experimental data indicates the influence of fatigue testing conditions on the fatigue life predictions based on the Ramberg-Osgood relationship, while the ...

Residual stresses in P91 steel electron beam welds
Science and Technology of Welding and Joining, 2013This paper describes the characterisation of residual stress in electron beam welded P91 ferritic–martensitic steel plates (9 mm thick) by neutron diffraction and contour measurement methods. The novelty of the work lies in revealing the residual stress profile at a fine length scale associated with a ∼1 mm wide fusion zone.

Is Substituting P91 for P22 Justified?
2016While refurbishing fossil fuel power plants, it is of great importance for safety precaution to replace the aged components which exceeded their designed service life with new ones. The most important parameter for thick-walled components is thickness value and the most important procedure is its reduction.

High-Temperature Mechanical Properties of P91 Weld Metal
Materials Performance and Characterization, 2017Abstract Increasing temperature is one of the key factors for improving the efficiency of steam power plants. Important metallurgical phenomena are activated at such high temperatures and creep resistance becomes a driving criterion for the material selection.

Creep of Cast Steel P91 with Weld Joint
Materials Science Forum, 2014High-temperature martensitic steel P91, internationally marked GX12CrMoVNbN91, is the material used in the energy industry. Creep and high-temperature corrosion resistances are important properties that affect the application of this material at higher temperatures. Weldment reduces creep properties.
