Aging Mechanism of Welded Joints of P92 Steels
Volume 3: Design, Materials and Manufacturing, Parts A, B, and C, 2012This paper concerns the study of aging mechanism of welded joints of P92 steels. Alloys like P92 steel are commonly used in ultra-supercritical (USC) power plants. Depending on the service conditions, the welded joints may become a critical weak link between component connections, showing crack openings and even failures.

Determination of creep and damage properties for P92 at 675 °C
The Journal of Strain Analysis for Engineering Design, 2011In order to predict the service life of components that operate at high temperatures, such as steam carrying pipes in conventional power plants, the material creep behaviour needs to be determined. There are little creep data available on grade P92 (9Cr2W) steel (a potential successor to P91) as it is a relatively new material; therefore a testing ...

P92 Role of a simulation nurse ‘a personal reflection’
Poster Presentations, 2019Introduction I am a Simulation Nurse in The College of Anesthesiologists of Ireland Simulation Training Centre and would like to reflect on my role and how it impacts on me. I hope through this study to present an overview of the core values essential for this role, the positive impact its input contributes, the respect it promotes, and the personal ...

Microstructure and creep behaviour of P92 steel after HPT
Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2018Abstract The influence of the application of severe plastic deformation on microstructure changes and creep deformation behaviour was investigated in P92 creep-resistant pipe steel. P92 steel in its as-received state, with a microstructure typical of tempered martensite, was subjected to high-pressure torsion at room temperature.

Effect of Laves phase on the toughness of P92 weld metals
Fatigue & Fracture of Engineering Materials & Structures, 2018AbstractIn this investigation, Laves phase was found to gradually precipitate from the tempered martensitic matrix of the two P92 weld metals (WMs) during the aging treatment. The particle size of Laves phase in the two WMs was ranged from 0.18 to 0.24 μm and was larger than the M23C6 particle size (ranged from 0.09 to 0.13 μm). The dislocation density

A comparison of three weld consumables for P92 under creep
Materials at High Temperatures, 2012AbstractTo encourage realistic power plant weld heat-affected zone failures within reasonable test times in laboratory creep testing, a welding consumable for P92 steel with the best creep performance was sought, to avoid failures in the weld metal itself.

High Temperature Deformation Behavior of P92 Steel
Transactions of the Indian Institute of Metals, 2015The ferritic-martensitic steels are superior steels based on the potential properties that they possess; especially, the elevated temperature properties. Among these ferritic-martensitic steels, Cr–Mo–W steel is a candidate structural material for high temperature applications such as future advanced reactors and aerospace applications.
