High temperature workability behaviour of a modified P92 steel [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Materials Research, 2011
Abstract The high temperature forming behaviour of a modified P92, type 9 % Cr, steel is studied by means of torsion tests. The data obtained from these tests allowed correlation of the number of turns to failure, a measure of ductility, as a function of strain rate and temperature.

A new numerical model to predict welding-induced sensitization in SUS304 austenitic stainless steel joint

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2022
In this paper, a SUS304/P92 dissimilar metal butt-welded joint was fabricated, and the welding-induced sensitization of SUS304 austenitic stainless steel in this joint was investigated via the numerical simulation and experiment.

A comparative study of two nuclear steel grades welded joints [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Metallurgy and Materials, 2020
In present work, two nuclear grade steel (P91, P92) are joined using the arc welding process. The welded joints were subjected to the heat treatment in order to restore the mechanical properties and overcome the heterogeneity across the joints.

Effect of cooling modes after austenitization on stabilities of microstructure and hardness of P92 steel aged at 650℃

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng, 2019
The stabilities of microstructures and hardness of P92 steel samples austenitized at 1060℃ for 1h followed by air cooling (AC)/slow cooling (SC) and tempered at 760℃ for 2h and then aged at 650℃ for 1000h/3000h were studied by SEM-SE/BSE,EDS and ...

New chromium steel grade for creep applications

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2022
In this study, a novel Chromium steel grade (COIN2) is produced as a result of a new steel composition and an innovative heat treatment. This new steel grade COIN2 evolves from the P92 steel grade and other novel steel grade recently created by the ...

Remaining creep properties and fracture behaviour of P92 steel welded joint under prior low cycle fatigue loading

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2020
The alternation of creep properties is unavoidable in welded structures after suffering from cyclic damage, which may lead to the premature failure of power plant units and hard to predict. This work is devoted to clarify the influence of prior low cycle

Investigation on the Enhanced Oxidation of Ferritic/Martensitic Steel P92 in Pure Steam [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials, 2014
Oxidation of ferritic/martensitic steel P92 was investigated in pure oxygen and in pure steam at 600–800 °C by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results showed that the oxidation of P92 was significantly enhanced and multilayer scale with an outer iron oxides ...

Reprint of: Arc erosion of full metal plasma facing components at the inner baffle region of ASDEX Upgrade

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2017
At the inner baffle of the AUG divertor massive polished inserts of tungsten and P92 steel were installed to measure the erosion by arcing. For tungsten most of the traces are less than 0.4µm deep and a similar amount of tungsten is deposited close to ...
