PA12 Powder Recycled from SLS for FDM [PDF]

open access: yesPolymers, 2019
In this study, Polyamide 12 (PA12) powder recycled after selective laser sintering (SLS) was made into filaments for fused deposition modelling (FDM). Compared with fresh PA12, the melt flow rate (MFR) of the recycled PA12 powder decreased by 77%, but the mechanical properties were only slightly reduced.

Optimization of Silicon Nitride Nanopowder Content in Polyamide 12 (PA12) in Extrusion-Based Additive Manufacturing [PDF]

open access: yesNanomaterials
The use of polyamide-12 (PA12) thermoplastics in additive manufacturing (AM) is promising owing to their mechanical properties and printability. However, in load-bearing applications, improvements in mechanical strength and stiffness are sought after ...

A Study of the Flexural Properties of PA12/Clay Nanocomposites [PDF]

open access: yesPolymers, 2022
Polymer nanocomposites consist of a polymer matrix and reinforcing particles that have at least one dimension under 100 nm. The processing of nanocomposite polymers is the most important stage, determining the final properties of nanocomposites. Nanocomposites are now preferentially prepared by melt-mixing using conventional compounding processes such ...

Mechanical properties and fracture characterization of additive manufacturing polyamide 12 after accelerated weathering

open access: yesPolymer Testing, 2021
The additive manufacturing (AM) methods, selective laser sintering (SLS) and multi jet fusion (MJF), are increasingly used for end-use polymer parts. Chemical reactions caused by ionizing radiation and catalyzed by oxygen, moisture, and heat are known to
