Temporal Association Between Intrathoracic Impedance and Tachyarrhythmia Occurrence

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
A decrease in intrathoracic impedance is temporally associated with subsequent AF occurrence and, at the episode level, with a shorter time to VT. These findings suggest that daily intrathoracic impedance may provide information on short‐term changes preceding tachyarrhythmia occurrence.

Safety and Outcomes of Percutaneous Vegetation Aspiration During Transvenous Lead Extraction: A Multicenter Experience

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Transvenous lead extraction (TLE) for cardiac implantable electronic device infection has high procedural success, but with a 1‐year mortality approaching 25%. Potential mechanisms include septic embolization and persistent infected lead casts or “ghosts.” Percutaneous mechanical aspiration of lead‐related vegetations during TLE is ...

Frailty and Five‐Year Mortality After TAVR in Patients Aged 75 Years and Older

open access: yesJournal of the American Geriatrics Society, EarlyView.
In patients aged 75 years and older undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement, frailty assessed by the Clinical Frailty Scale was the most robust geriatric factor independently associated with five‐year mortality. This study highlights the specific prognostic value of frailty beyond short‐term outcomes.

Jugular Versus Femoral Venous Access for Leadless Pacemaker Implantation: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesPacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Leadless pacemakers (LPMs) have been shown to reduce complications compared with conventional transvenous pacing. Transfemoral venous access (FA) is the standard implantation approach; however, the transjugular approach (JA) has recently emerged as an alternative strategy, but comparative evidence remains limited.
