Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography assessment of retinal and choroidal changes in patients with coronavirus disease 2019: a case-control study

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmic Inflammation and Infection, 2022
Objectives This study aimed to evaluate the retinal and choroidal changes in the macular region of patients with Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) using structural spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) analysis.

Pachychoroid Pigment Epitheliopathy; Signs, Diagnosis, and Management

open access: yesGüncel Retina Dergisi (Current Retina Journal), 2020
Pachychoroid (ancient Greek pachy: thick) means thick choroid. Pachychoroid pigment epitheliopathy (PPE) has been recently defined as a forme fruste of central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC). Its characteristic findings are pachychoroid phenotype, a variety of RPE abnormalities, absence of subretinal fluid, and absence of a history of subretinal fluid.

Incidence and Risk Factors for Progression of Pachychoroid Subtype.

open access: yesJAMA Ophthalmol
Importance The incidence and determinants of progression across the pachychoroid subtype remain incompletely characterized, limiting risk stratification and follow-up strategies.

Collaborative care of non‐urgent macular disease: a study of inter‐optometric referrals

open access: yesOphthalmic and Physiological Optics, Volume 36, Issue 6, Page 632-642, November 2016., 2016
Abstract Purpose Diseases involving the macula and posterior pole are leading causes of visual impairment and blindness worldwide and may require prompt ophthalmological care. However, access to eye‐care and timely patient management may be limited due to inefficient and inappropriate referrals between primary eye‐care providers and ophthalmology ...

Low incidence of pachydrusen in central serous chorioretinopathy in an Indian cohort

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2020
Purpose: The aim of this study is to report the prevalence, clinical and swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT) characteristics of pachydrusen in eyes with central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) and their fellow eyes. Methods: A total of 264

Choroidal vascular hyperpermeability patterns in central serous chorioretinopathy correlate with microperimetry: CERTAIN study report 4

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, Volume 104, Issue 3, Page 288-295, May 2026.
Abstract Purpose This report evaluates the association of three distinct leakage patterns of choroidal vascular hyperpermeability (CVH) on indocyanine green angiography (ICGA), previously correlated with disease chronicity, with retinal sensitivity measured by microperimetry in central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC): unifocal indistinct signs of ...

Neovascular age‐related macular degeneration without drusen

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, Volume 104, Issue 3, Page e300-e311, May 2026.
Abstract Purpose To describe the clinical characteristics and 1‐year follow‐up of patients with neovascular AMD (nAMD) without drusen in either eye. Methods This is a multicentre retrospective cohort study in three tertiary referral centres in The Netherlands. We included patients of 55 years or older with nAMD in one or both eyes, without the presence

EN FACE IMAGING OF PACHYCHOROID SPECTRUM DISORDERS WITH SWEPT-SOURCE OPTICAL COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY

open access: yes, 2016
PURPOSE: To correlate clinical manifestations with choroidal morphology in pachychoroid disorders, including central serous chorioretinopathy, pachychoroid pigment epitheliopathy, pachychoroid neovasculopathy, and polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy, using

Pachychoroid neovasculopathy

open access: yes, 2015
PURPOSE: To report 3 cases of pachychoroid neovasculopathy, a form of Type 1 (sub-retinal pigment epithelium) neovascularization, occurring over areas of increased choroidal thickness and dilated choroidal vessels.

Additional file 6 of Case series: pachychoroid pigment epitheliopathy transformed to polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy after long-term follow-up

open access: yes, 2022
Additional file 6: Supplemental Table 1. Treatment received and clinical features of all study eyes at the last follow-up. *MRT was defined as the maximum retinal thickness of the scanned area measuredon all OCT B-scans of the study eye. †Due to severe macular edema and extensive PED, the SFCT and MRT of case 3 as well as the SFCT of case 4 could not ...
