Characterization of two crustin antimicrobial peptides from the freshwater crayfish Pacifastacus leniusculus

Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, 2010
The two bacteria-induced crustin genes, Plcrustin1 and Plcrustin2, previously found in the hemocyte cDNA library of Pacifastacus leniusculus, contain the open reading frames of 357 bp encoding a putative protein of 118 amino acid residues and 330 bp encoding a putative protein of 109 amino acid residues, respectively.

Resistance of a Northwestern Crayfish, Pacifastacus leniusculus (Dana), to Elevated Temperatures

Transactions of the American Fisheries Society, 1975
Abstract Pacifastacus leniusculus from two populations in Washington State, the central Columbia River and a small tributary, were acclimated at 5 C intervals and exposed to elevated temperatures in 48 hour thermal bioassays. The upper lethal temperature for both crayfish populations increased relatively slightly, from about 28.5 to 31.5 C, over the ...

Signaalvähk (Pacifastacus leniusculus) Eestis, liigi mõju jõevähile ning võimalikud tõrjemeetmed

2012

PHARMACOKINETICS OF CEFTAZIDIME IN SIGNAL CRAYFISH (PACIFASTACUS LENIUSCULUS) FOLLOWING A SINGLE DOSE

Journal of Zoo and Wildlife Medicine
Crustaceans are housed in zoos and aquariums and have also gained importance in the private sector and food industry. Shell lesions are common and often attributed to bacterial infections. However, few controlled studies have been performed evaluating antibiotics in crustaceans.

Ecological characteristics of invasive signal crayfish (Pacifastacus leniusculus) in Croatia

2010
Non-indigenous crayfish species (NICS), namely signal crayfish (Pacifastacus leniusculus) has been recorded in the Croatian part of the Mura River in 2008. . Its presence in the Mura River is probably a consequence of its spread from upstream segments of the river in Slovenia and Austria.

Ionic Currents in Identified Swimmeret Motor Neurones of the Crayfish Pacifastacus Leniusculus

Journal of Experimental Biology, 1995
ABSTRACT Ionic currents from freshly isolated and identified swimmeret motor neurones were characterized using a whole-cell patch-clamp technique. Two outward currents could be distinguished. A transient outward current was elicited by delivering depolarizing voltage steps from a holding potential of -80 mV.
